  1. 1. Array-based Characterization of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia : - with Focus on Subsets Carrying Stereotyped B-cell Receptors

    Author : Millaray Marincevic; Richard Rosenquist; Andreas Rosenwald; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; array-based characterization; stereotyped B-cell receptors; subsets; antigens; SNP array; gene expression array; methylation array; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Clinical Genetics; Klinisk genetik;

    Abstract : In chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), the presence of multiple subsets expressing ‘stereotyped’ B-cell receptors (BCRs) has implicated antigen(s) in leukemogenesis. These stereotyped subsets display similar immunoglobulin (IG) gene usage, almost identical complementarity determining region 3’s and may share clinical features. READ MORE

  2. 2. Novel imaging technology and tools for biomarker detection in cancer

    Author : Zahra El-Schich; Malmö högskola; []
    Keywords : Biomarkers; Kronisk lymfatisk leukemi; Early detection of cancer; Diagnosis; Leukemia; Lymphocytic; Chronic; B-Cell; Apoptosis; Digital holografi;

    Abstract : Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Normally the balance betweencell growth and cell death is strongly controlled. Chronic lymphocytic leukemiais an indolent disease that has a highly variable clinical course and is the mostcommon hematological malignancy amongst adults in the Western countries. READ MORE

  3. 3. Restricted antigen recognition in B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Author : Anna Lanemo Myhrinder; Anders Rosén; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia; auto antigens; CLL cell lines; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells are considered to be derived from antigen-exposed B cells. To further explore the antigen-driven selection behind the leukemogenesis of CLL, we performed immunoglobulin (Ig) specificity screening of 7 CLL cell lines and 23 primary CLL clones from patient peripheral blood. 4. 4. Genomic and transcriptomic sequencing in chronic lymphocytic leukemia

    Author : Diego Cortese; Richard Professor; Carlos López Otín; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; chronic; lymphocytic; leukemia; CLL; genomics; transcriptomics; DNA; RNA; mutations; NGS; whole-exome; sequencing; prognostic; markers; TP53; SF3B1; RPS15; relapse; stereotyped; subsets.;

    Abstract : Identification of recurrent mutations through next-generation sequencing (NGS) has given us a deeper understanding of the molecular mechanisms involved in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) development and progression and provided novel means for risk assessment in this clinically heterogeneous disease. In paper I, we screened a population-based cohort of CLL patients (n=364) for TP53, NOTCH1, SF3B1, BIRC3 and MYD88 mutations using Sanger sequencing, and confirmed the negative prognostic impact of TP53, SF3B1 or NOTCH1 aberrations, though at lower frequencies compared to previous studies.     Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma; chronic lymphocytic leukemia; TP53 mutation; MDM2 SNP309; codon 72 polymorphism; p16INK4a methylation; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Haematology; Hematologi; Tumour biology; Tumörbiologi; Clinical Genetics; Klinisk genetik; Medical Genetics; Medicinsk genetik; Molekylär genetik; Molecular Genetics; Oncology; Onkologi; Pathology; Patologi;

    Abstract : The presence of TP53 mutations has been associated with inferior outcome in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). In DLBCL, the impact of the TP53 codon 72 polymorphism and MDM2 SNP309 has not been clearly elucidated, whereas MDM2 SNP309 was suggested as a poor-prognostic marker in CLL. READ MORE
