11. A high-order accurate, collocated boundary element method for wave propagation in layered media
Abstract : The ultimate goal of this research is to construct a hybrid model for sound propagation in layered underwater environments with curved boundaries by employing a differential formulation for inhomogeneous layers and a boundary integral formulation for homogeneous layers. The discretization of the new hybrid model is a combination of a finite difference method for the Helmholtz equation for inhomogeneous media and a collocated boundary element method (BEM) for the integral equation for homogeneous media, while taking special care of the open boundaries and the common interface. 12. Probabilistic Calibration of Building Energy Models : For Scalable and Detailed Energy Performance Assessment of District-Heated Multifamily Buildings
Abstract : There is a global need to reduce energy consumption and integrate a larger share of renewable energy production while meeting expectations for human well-being and economic growth. Buildings have a key role to play in this transition to more sustainable cities and communities. READ MORE

13. Development of Vortex Filament Method for Aerodynamic Loads on Rotor Blades
Abstract : Wind power is currently one of the most reliable new energy sources serving as an alternative tofossil fuel generated electricity and is known as a widely distributed clean and renewable sourceof energy. It is now the world’s fastest growing energy source and has also become one of themost rapidly expanding industries. READ MORE

15. Simulating rolling noise on ballasted and slab tracks: vibration, radiation, and pass-by signals
Abstract : Shifting to rail-bound freight and passenger traffic is key in Europe's strategy towards transport decarbonisation. However, increasing railway traffic can increase environmental noise pollution. Rolling noise is often the dominant noise source. It originates from the interaction of the rough running surfaces of wheel and rail. READ MORE
