  1. 1. Sustainable Urban and Regional Development and Related Ecosystem Services and Water-Climate Interactions

    Author : Jessica Faye Page; Zahra Kalantari; Georgia Destouni; Bev Wilson; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; urban planning; regional planning; sustainable cities; nature-based solutions; climate change; planning support systems; sustainable development; naturgeografi; Physical Geography;

    Abstract : To accommodate a growing global population while mitigating climate change, urban areas must grow while minimising environmental impacts. To achieve this, a city must be treated as a complex socio-ecological system in which many actors and subsystems act in unclear and unpredictable ways. READ MORE

  2. 2. A Two-Stroke Range Extender Engine For Heavy Duty BEV applications

    Author : Lennarth Zander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; gas exchange; after burner; single cylinder; Two-stroke engine; Range extender; BEV; Battery electric vehicles;

    Abstract : A back-up range extender (REX) is proposed to support battery electric vehicles (BEV) for heavy duty applications. A single cylinder crank case scavenged two-stroke SI-internal combustion engine (ICE) with a turbocharger system is considered powerful and small enough to be installed directly on the existing electric machine in the electric powertrain. 3. 3. Car movement patterns and the PHEV

    Author : Lars Henrik Björnsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PHEV; Sweden; PHEV viability; PHEV potential; car movement pattern; GPS logging; BEV; electrification; brake energy regeneration; battery size;

    Abstract : Roughly 30% of Sweden’s total greenhouse gas emissions originate from transport and a majority of them from cars. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) avoids the range limitation of the fully electric vehicle while still allowing for a major share of the fuel to be replaced by electricity from the grid and can thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions, local pollutants and energy security concerns. 4. 4. Towards Low-Voltage, High-Current : A pioneering drive concept for battery electric vehicles

    Author : Stefan Haller; Kent Bertilsson; Bengt Oelmann; Peng Cheng; Dieter Gerling; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; low voltage; high current; EV; BEV; electrical machine; power electronics; MOSFET;

    Abstract : The first electric low-voltage vehicles were constructed in the mid-19th century, but by the early 20th century they were progressively replacedby successors with internal combustion engines. As the consequences ofusing fossil fuels are better understood, our society is now transitioning back. READ MORE

  5. 5. On Battery Electric Vehicles: Driving Patterns, Multi-Car Households and Infrastructure

    Author : Niklas Jakobsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BEV; battery size; individual movement pattern.; Electro-mobility; GPS-logging;

    Abstract : The transportation sector is responsible for a quarter of all greenhouse gas emissions in Europe. Though the transport system may be difficult to change into a less polluting system, electric vehicles may be a possible approach. READ MORE
