  1. 1. Shb and Its Homologues: Signaling in T Lymphocytes and Fibroblasts

    Author : Cecilia Lindholm; Hamid Band; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Cell biology; Shb; T cell receptor; IL-2 receptor; PDGF receptor; cell signaling; adapter proteins; LAT; Vav; PLC-g1; SLP-76; JAK1; JAK3; Jurkat cells; T cells; NK cells; Apoptosis.; Cellbiologi; Cell biology; Cellbiologi; medicinsk cellbiologi; Medical Cell Biology;

    Abstract : Stimulation of the T cell receptor (TCR) induces tyrosine phosphorylation of numerous intracellular proteins, leading to activation of the interleukin-2 (IL-2) gene in T lymphocytes. Shb is a ubiquitously expressed adapter protein, with the ability to associate with the T cell receptor and several signaling proteins in T cells, including: the TCR ζ-chain, LAT, PLC-γ1, Vav, SLP-76 and Gads. 2. 2. Higher order differential operators on graphs

    Author : Jacob Muller; Pavel Kurasov; Ram Band; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Almost periodic functions; differential operators on metric graphs; quantum graphs; estimation of eigenvalues;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of two papers, enumerated by Roman numerals. The main focus is on the spectral theory of -Laplacians. Here, an -Laplacian, for integer , refers to a metric graph equipped with a differential operator whose differential expression is the -th derivative. READ MORE

  4. 4. Estimation of Forest Biomass and Faraday Rotation Using Polarimetric L-/P-band SAR

    Author : Gustaf Sandberg; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; linear regression; Remote sensing; forest biomass retrieval; P-band; synthetic aperture radar SAR ; calibration; L-band;

    Abstract : At present the greatest source of uncertainty in the global carbon cycle is in the terrestrialecosystems. In order to reduce these uncertainties it is necessary to provide consistent andaccurate global estimates of the biomass contained in the forests of the world. READ MORE

  5. 5. Biomass Retrieval in Topographic Boreal Forest using Polarimetric and Tomographic SAR in P- and L-band

    Author : Erik Blomberg; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Forest Biomass; Tomography; SAR; L-band; EM Modelling; P-Band;

    Abstract : Forests and their associated habitats are an integral part of Earth's biosphere and provide essential environmental services. There is an ever present need for accurate and economic monitoring of forest parameters such as biomass - of great interest both locally, for forest management and resource utilization, and globally as it represents stored atmospheric CO2 and one of the largest uncertainties in climate modelling.
