  1. 1. Fabrication and Characterization of Superconductive Coplanar Waveguide Resonators : Fabrication and Characterization of Superconductive Coplanar Waveguide Resonators

    Author : Adem Ergül; David B. Haviland; Vladimir Krasnov; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coplanar; Waveguide; Resonator; Superconductive; Fabrication; Characterization; Superconductivity; Supraledning;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to evaluate a generic process for fabrication and characterization of the Superconductive coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators. Superconductive CPW resonators with various lengths and shapes are designed to investigate their electrical and magnetic properties as well as resonance properties and sensitivities. READ MORE

    Abstract : The development of new materials with novel properties plays an important role in improving our lives and welfare. Research in Nanotechnology can provide e.g. cheaper and smarter materials in applications such as energy storage and sensors. READ MORE

  3. 3. Metastable YAlN and ScAlN thin films : growth and characterization

    Author : Agnė Žukauskaitė; Lars Hultman; Jens Birch; Anita Lloyd Spetz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : ScxAl1-xN and YxAl1-xN thin films were deposited in a ultra high vacuum system using reactive magnetron co-sputtering from elemental Al, Sc and Y targets in Ar/N2. Their mechanical, electrical, optical, and piezoelectrical properties were investigated with the help of transmission electron microscopy, xray diffraction, ellipsometry, I-V and C-V measurements, and two different techniques for piezoelectric characterization: piezoresponse force microscopy and double beam interferometry. 4. 4. Silicon nanowires, nanopillars and quantum dots : Fabrication and characterization

    Author : Robert Juhasz; Jan Linnros; Philippe M. Fauchet; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Silicon nanowires; silicon nanopillars; silicon quantum dots; size-reduction; thermal oxidation; electrochemical etching of silicon; photoluminescence; Semiconductor physics; Halvledarfysik;

    Abstract : Semiconductor nanotechnology is today a very well studied subject, and demonstrations of possible applications and concepts are abundant. However, well-controlled mass-fabrication on the nanoscale is still a great challenge, and the lack of nanofabrication methods that provide the combination of required fabrication precision and high throughput, limits the large-scale use of nanodevices.
