1. Optical Studies For Synchrotron Radiation Beamlines
Abstract : Synchrotron radiation sources have greatly contributed to the progress in many fields of science. The development of the storage ring technologies has made possible to obtain very low emittance electron beams, which together with the use of undulators allow guiding a very high photon flux into a very small spot required by the experiments. 2. The dynamics of beamline configurations and user communities : Quantitative studies of Big Science publications
Abstract : This thesis examines the role of beamlines with publication metadata from the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF a large scientific facility offering diverse conditions for scientific research. As a user-oriented Big Science facility, the ESRF channels extremely brilliant light into different experimental areas called beamlines that house specific instruments that cater to the needs of diverse user communities. 4. An Intense Attosecond Light Source - Towards Extreme Ultraviolet Pump-Probe Experiments
Abstract : This thesis presents important steps towards performing high-intensity attosecond pump-probe experiments at the Lund high-intensity extreme ultraviolet (XUV) beamline, which followed two complementary paths: maximization of the XUV intensity available in the interaction region with a gas target, and providing attosecond temporal resolution. To maximize the energy of the XUV pulses generated via high-order harmonicgeneration (HHG), the macroscopic response of atoms to the driving infrared field was optimized. 5. Development of New Experimental Facilities at the Lund Nuclear Microprobe Laboratory
Abstract : Ion beam analysis techniques are now well established as research tools for a broad range of multidisciplinary scientific fields. The ability to focus an ion beam down to micrometer size has expanded and strengthened the capability of IBA techniques to a higher level. READ MORE
