11. Methods for the Synthesis of PET Tracers and NMR Studies of Ribonuclease A
Abstract : This thesis contains two parts. In the first part, general and versatile palladium-mediated 11C-C bond forming reactions for use in the production of radiotracers for Positron Emission Tomography (PET) were explored. READ MORE

12. PET in Heart Failure - Methods and Applications
Abstract : Positron Emission Tomography (PET) permits regional myocardial perfusion, fibrosis and oxidative metabolism to be non-invasively quantified with radioactive tracers such as [15O]-water and [1-11C]-acetate. PET is an established research tool in congestive heart failure (CHF), a major cause of morbidity and mortality. READ MORE

13. Imaging brain aromatase by using PET : A way to study anabolic steroid abuse
Abstract : Aromatase is an enzyme that facilitates the conversion of androgens to estrogens and may play a role in mood and mental status. The main theme of this thesis is the imaging of brain aromatase by use of the PET technique. The PET tracer for aromatase, 11C-labeled vorozole (VOZ) was developed and evaluated by with in vitro and in vivo methods. READ MORE

14. Synthesis, Characterisation and Application of 68Ga-labelled Macromolecules
Abstract : The positron emitting radionuclide 68Ga (T1/2 = 68 min) might become of practical interest for clinical positron emission tomography (PET). The metallic cation, 68Ga(III), is suitable for complexation with chelators, either naked or conjugated with biological macromolecules. READ MORE

15. Design and Synthesis of 11C-Labelled Compound Libraries for the Molecular Imaging of EGFr, VEGFr-2, AT1 and AT2 Receptors : Transition-Metal Mediated Carbonylations Using [11C]Carbon Monoxide
Abstract : This work deals with radiochemistry and new approaches to develop novel PET tracers labelled with the radionuclide 11C.Two methods for the synthesis of 11C-labelled acrylamides have been explored. READ MORE
