  1. 1. Palladium(0)-Catalysed Carbonylative Multicomponent Reactions : Synthesis of Heterocycles and the Application of Quinolinyl Pyrimidines as Enzyme Inhibitors

    Author : Linda Åkerbladh; Mats Larhed; Luke Odell; Anders Karlén; Lise-Lotte Gundersen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Palladium catalysis; Carbonylation; Multicomponent reactions; Domino reactions; Heterocycles; 4-Quinolones; 2-Aminoquinazolinones; Benzoxazinones; N-Acylguanidines; Type II NADH dehydrogenase; NDH-2;

    Abstract : Palladium-catalysed carbonylative multicomponent reactions have proven useful for the synthesis of structurally diverse compounds. Carbon monoxide serves as an atom-efficient, one-carbon building block, which allows for further structural elaboration of the carbonyl compound. READ MORE

  2. 2. Synthetic studies of heterocyclic natural products

    Author : Jeffrey J Mason; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Heterocycles; alkaloids; natural products; luotonin A; cephalandole A; cephalandole B; benzoxazinone; tryptanthrin; ophiuroidine; pyrroloquinazolinone; isatin; Prey demethylation; pyridinium hydrochloride; demethylation; microwave synthesis;

    Abstract : The methods that were developed for the synthesis of the heterocyclic natural products luotonin A, ophiuroidine, cephalandole B, and the indol-3-yl-benzoxazinones of cephalandole A are described in this thesis. The reoccurrence of the 4(3H)-quinazolinone structure is a common theme throughout these studies, and an overview of some quinazoline chemistry is introduced in the first chapter. READ MORE

  3. 3. Synthesis of heterocycles from anthranilic acid and its derivatives

    Author : Per Wiklund; Jan Bergman; Norbert de Kimpe; Södertörns högskola; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Anthranilic acid; synthesis; heterocycles; benzodiazepines; HNO nitrosyl ;

    Abstract : Anthranilic acid (2-aminobenzoic acid, Aa) is the biochemical precursor to the amino acid tryptophan, as well as a catabolic product of tryptophan in animals. It is also integrated into many alkaloids isolated from plants. Aa is produced industrially for production of dyestuffs and pharmaceuticals. READ MORE
