  1. 1. Modelling Bidding Behaviour in Electricity Auctions : Supply Function Equilibria with Uncertain Demand and Capacity Constraints

    Author : Pär Holmberg; Nils Gottfries; Chuan-Zhong Li; Mats Bergman; David Newbery; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Business and economics; supply function equilibrium; asymmetry; uniqueness; oligopoly; capacity constraint; uniform-price auction; pay-as-bid auction; discriminatory auction; wholesale electricity market; Ekonomi; Business and economics; Ekonomi;

    Abstract : In most electricity markets, producers submit supply functions to a procurement uniform-price auction under uncertainty before demand has been realized. In the Supply Function Equilibrium (SFE), every producer commits to the supply function that maximises his expected profit given the bids of competitors. READ MORE

  2. 2. Polyanalytic Bergman Kernels

    Author : Antti Haimi; Håkan Hedenmalm; Joaquim Ortega Cerdà; KTH; []
    Keywords : Polyanalytic function; determinantal point process; Bergman kernel;

    Abstract : The thesis consists of three articles concerning reproducing kernels ofweighted spaces of polyanalytic functions on the complex plane. In the first paper, we study spaces of polyanalytic polynomials equipped with a Gaussianweight. In the remaining two papers, more general weight functions are considered. READ MORE

  3. 3. Bayesian Inference in Terrain Navigation

    Author : Niclas Bergman; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Terrain navigation is a concept for autonomous aircraft navigation. If measurements of the terrain height over mean sea-level are collected along the aircraft flight path, an estimate of the aircraft position can be formed by matching these measurements with a digital reference terrain map. This matching is a recursive nonlinear estimation problem. READ MORE

  4. 4. Renal dysfunction and protection in cardiovascular surgery

    Author : Anders Bergman; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Acute Renal Failure; Anesthesia; Atrial Natriuretic Peptide; Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide; Calcium Antagonists; Diltiazem; Heart Surgery; Postoperative Renal Dysfunction; Vascular Surgery;

    Abstract : Purpose: This thesis is focused on studies of postoperative renal dysfunction (PRD), and on renal effects and possible prophylactic potentials of three vasoactive substances, calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP), and the calcium channel antagonist diltiazem. Methods: In paper I the medical records of 1 030 consecutive cardiothoracic surgery patients were evaluated and glomerular filtration calculated from serum creatinine levels. READ MORE

  5. 5. Modelling and simulation of simultaneous forming and quenching

    Author : Greger Bergman; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Datorstödd maskinkonstruktion; Computer Aided Design;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to develop and evaluate numerical methods for modelling and simulation of simultaneous forming and quenching within an integrated product development environment. Simultaneous forming and quenching, also referred to as hot-stamping, is a manufacturing process for high strength automotive components such as side impact protection beams. READ MORE
