  2. 7. Fish bile in environmental analysis

    Author : Margaretha Adolfsson-Erici; Michael McLachlan; Lillemor Asplund; Freek Ariese; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fish bile estrogenic triclosan rubber additives pulp and paper; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi;

    Abstract : This work explores the usefulness of fish bile analysis in combination with biomarkers for identifying and evaluating new environmental contaminants in the aquatic environment. It illustrates how bile analysis can be used together with biomarkers to assess the causes of estrogenic effects, to identify chemicals in the aquatic environment that are taken up by fish, and to monitor environmental exposure. 3. 8. Studies on the hormonal regulation of bile acid synthesis

    Author : Thomas Lundåsen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The maintenance of a normal turnover of cholesterol is of vital importance, and disturbances of cholesterol metabolism may result in several important disease conditions. The major route for the elimination of cholesterol from the body is by hepatic secretion of cholesterol and bile acids (BAs) into the bile for subsequent fecal excretion. READ MORE

    Abstract : Introduction: Urinary diversion with the Kock ileal reservoir has been performed at Sahlgrenska University Hospital since 1975. One key question is the long-term consequences regarding glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and quality of life of this kind of surgery. Other important topics are the consequences due to loss of ileum. READ MORE
