Abstract :
Adenovirus serotype 5 (Ad5) is widely used as an oncolytic agent for cancer therapy. However, its infectivity is highly dependent on the expression level of coxsackievirus-adenovirus receptor (CAR) on the surface of tumor cells. READ MORE

Abstract :
Implementation and analysis of mathematical models can serve as a powerful tool in understanding how intracellular processes in bacteria affect the bacterial phenotype. In this thesis I have implemented and analysed models of a number of different parts of the bacterium E. coli in order to understand these types of connections. READ MORE

Abstract :
Proteins play important roles in most cellular functions, such as, replication, transcription regulation, signal transduction, for catalyzing chemical reaction, etc. Technologies developed to identify proteins rely either on observing their own properties such as charge, size, mass to charge ratio or sequence composition; or on using affinity reagents that recognize specific protein targets. Abstract :
Ground state destabilization is a hypothesis to explain enzyme catalysis. The most popular interpretation of it is the entropic effect, which states that enzymes accelerate biochemical reactions by bringing the reactants to a favorable position and orientation and the entropy cost of this is compensated by enthalpy of binding. Abstract :
The GTPase elongation factor G (EF-G) is an important player in the complex process of protein synthesis by bacterial ribosomes. Although extensively studied much remains to be learned about this fascinating protein. READ MORE
