  1. 1. Amino acid transport and receptor binding properties in neuropsychiatric disorders using the fibroblast cell model

    Author : Jessica Johansson; Nikolaos Venizelos; Lars Oreland; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : Fibroblasts; Bipolar disorder; ADHD; Tyrosine; Tryptophan; Alanine; Transport; mAChRs; Biomedicin; Biomedicine;

    Abstract : Altered transport of the catecholamines and serotonin precursor amino acids tyrosine and tryptophan, might be one explanation for the dysfunctional neurotransmission implicated in the pathophysiology of bipolar disorder and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). In previous studies, an altered amino acid transport has been found in schizophrenia and autism, when using the fibroblast cell model. READ MORE

  2. 2. Studies of Charge Transport and Energy Level in Solar Cells Based on Polymer/Fullerene Bulk Heterojunction

    Author : Abay Gadisa; Olle Inganäs; Vladimir Dyakonov; Linköpings universitet; []

  4. 4. Ion Transport in Cross-linked Nanocellulose Membranes

    Author : Hongli Yang; Isak Engquist; Magnus Berggren; Klaus-Dieter Kreuer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Membranes; Nanocellulose; Cross-linking; Ion transport; Energy harvesting and storage devices;

    Abstract : Ion-selective membranes, which allow ions with a certain charge and/or size to pass through while blocking other ions, have attracted much attention due to their diverse applications and outstanding roles in overcoming problems related to energy. In addition to the performance, the financial cost and renewability of materials are equally significant in the development of these membranes. READ MORE

  5. 5. Monopolar and Bipolar Membranes in Organic Bioelectronic Devices

    Author : Erik O. Gabrielsson; Magnus Berggren; Edwin Jager; Daniel Simon; Ari Ivaska; Linköpings universitet; []

    Abstract : In the 1970s it was discovered that organic polymers, a class of materials otherwise best know as insulating plastics, could be made electronically conductive. As an alternative to silicon semiconductors, organic polymers offer many novel features, characteristics, and opportunities, such as producing electronics at low costs using printing techniques, using organic chemistry to tune optical and electronic properties, and mechanical flexibility.
