  1. 11. Physical modeling of on-state losses in bipolar Si and SiC power devices

    Author : Olof Tornblad; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Power losses affect both the installation- and long-term cost of power electronic systems. The installation cost is related to the fatt that power losses in silicon power devices generate heat and make installation of heat sinks and water cooling necessary. If self-heating effects are strong, lotal overheating can eventually lead to device failure. READ MORE

  2. 12. 4H-SiC epitaxy investigating carrier lifetime and substrate off-axis dependence

    Author : Louise Lilja; Peder Bergman; Jawad ul-Hassan; Ulrike Grossner; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : Silicon carbide (SiC) is a wide bandgap semiconductor with unique material properties making it useful for various device applications using high power, high frequency and high temperature. Compared to Si-based electronics, SiC based electronics have an improved energy efficiency. READ MORE

  3. 13. Effects of Pulsed Electric Fields on Plant Tissue

    Author : Yongyut Chalermchat; Livsmedelsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Technological sciences; Electropermeabilization; Pulsed electric fields; Plant Tissue; Teknik;

    Abstract : The interaction between biological cells and external electric fields has been of interest by scientists for several decades. Exposure of the cells to electric fields leads to various kinds of biophysical and biochemical responses. These responses can be used to characterize cell properties and/or to manipulate cell characteristics. READ MORE

  4. 14. Topographical Impact on Space Charge Injection, Accumulation and Breakdown in Polymeric HVDC Cable Interfaces

    Author : Espen Doedens; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; interfaces; XLPE; roughness; cable peelings; polymer surfaces; space charge; field enhancement factor; PEA; DC breakdown; extruded cable; roughness enhanced charge injection; HVDC; charge injection;

    Abstract : Extruded HVDC cable systems feature a variety of interface types, for which physio-chemical properties will depend on the type of application. Such applications can be joints, terminations or the cable itself, all introducing different material combinations and manufacturing methods. READ MORE

  5. 15. Waste-heat Recovery Using Thermoelectricity and Silicon Carbide Power Electronics

    Author : Arash Edvin Risseh; Hans-Peter Nee; Torbjörn Thiringer; KTH; []
