  1. 1. PalCom Meets the End-User: Enabling Interaction with PalCom-based Systems

    Author : Björn A Johnsson; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : When developing applications for end-user nodes in distributed systems, it is not unusual to find that the business logic part of the solution is relatively inexpensive to develop. The resource intense parts of the solution are more likely to be those of presenting the functionality provided by the node to the end-user, and of connecting the node with the rest of the system. 2. 2. Inverted GUI Development for IoT with Applications in E-Health

    Author : Björn A Johnsson; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Keywords : Graphical user interfaces; GUI; Development tools; Internet of Things; IoT; E-health; End-user composition; Mobile applications; Android; PalCom; Middleware;

    Abstract : In the context of Internet of Things (IoT), the research of this dissertation is concerned with the development of applications for end-user devices, i.e. devices through which the end-user directly interacts with systems. READ MORE

  3. 3. Energy Analysis for Graphics Processors using Novel Methods & Efficient Multi-View Rendering

    Author : Björn M Johnsson; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer graphics; energy consumption; energy measurements; multi-view rendering;

    Abstract : Real-time rendering is increasingly being performed on battery powered devices, such as laptops and mobile phones. As a result, performance in rendering time is not the only important factor, but the energy consumption is also becoming more and more important, as a lower energy usage directly translates to longer battery time.     Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; District heating networks; Electricity distribution networks; Extended energy hub approach; Integrated load flow study; Integrated optimal power flow; Multi-carrier energy networks; Multi-energy system; Optimal placement; Thermal storage.; Hub énergétique étendu; Flux de charges; Flux de puissances intégrées optimaux; Réseaux énergétiques multi-vecteurs; Système multi-énergies; Placement optimal.; Fjärrvärmenät; Elektricitetsdistributionsnät; Utökad strategi för energihub; Integrerad belastningsstudie; Integrerat optimalt effektflöde; Energinät med flera bärare; Multi-energisystem; Optimal placering; Termisk lagring.; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : Recent literature shows that there is a significant potential of decarbonisation and efficiency improvement that can be achieved through the synergy from multi-energy systems (MESs). Coupling technologies, such as co-generation plants, heat pumps and thermal storages are widely recommended as means of unlocking additional flexibility and increasing the penetration of renewables in the heating and electricity sectors.
