16. Integrating Heat Pumps into Smart Grids
Abstract : Transforming our energy system towards 100% renewable energy sources requires radical changes across all energy sectors. Heat pumps as efficient heat generation technology link the electricity and heat sector. From 2010 to 2015 between 750,000 and 800,000 heat pumps have been sold every year across Europe. READ MORE

17. Enhanced boiling heat transfer from a novel nanodendritic micro-porous copper structure
Abstract : Following licentiate thesis is a summary of the advances made within the research project - Micro- and nano structured surfaces for enhanced boiling heat transfer – which is a collaboration effort between the Divi-sion of Applied Thermodynamics and Refrigeration and the Division of Materials Chemistry at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The main objectives with this research project has been to: develop methods for producing highly efficient boiling surfaces with well defined micro- and nano-structured porous surfaces by the use of micro- and nano-manufacturing techniques. 18. Enhanced Boiling Heat Transfer on a Dendritic and Micro-Porous Copper Structure
Abstract : A novel surface structure comprising dendritically ordered nano-particles of copper was developed during the duration of this thesis research project. A high current density electrodeposition process, where hydrogen bubbles functioned as a dynamic mask for the materials deposition, was used as a basic fabrication method. READ MORE

19. Investigation of Thermal Performance of Cylindrical Heatpipes Operated with Nanofluids
Abstract : Nanofluids as an innovative class of heat transfer fluids created by dispersing nanometre-sizedmetallic or non-metallic particles in conventional heat transfer fluids displayed the potential toimprove the thermophysical properties of the heat transfer fluids. The main purpose of this study is toinvestigate the influence of the use of nanofluids on two-phase heat transfer, particularly on thethermal performance of the heat pipes. READ MORE
