11. Studies to Avoid Decreased Efficiency in Multiple Stage Biological Wastewater Treatment Plants: Concerning Forests Industry Effluents
READ MORE

12. The Use of Lignin Derivatives to Improve Selected Paper Properties
READ MORE

13. Towards a pure kraft lignin
Abstract : The most widely used production method for paper pulp in the world is kraft pulping. In chemical pulping the polymer, lignin, which binds the wood fibres together, is partly depolymerized. This allows the wood fibres to be separated from each other. READ MORE

14. Optimization of Pretreatment of Kraft Pulp with Nitrogen Oxides
Abstract : Modified kraft pulp subjected to oxygen bleaching following pretreatment with 2% nitrogen dioxide for 140 min with the addition of oxygen resulted in low selectivity after subsequent oxygen bleaching. In contrast, pretreatment in the absence of oxygen removed more than 80% of the lignin after oxygen bleaching and still maintained high selectivity (kappa number less than 5 at viscosity 950 dm3/kg). 15. Xylan Reactions in Kraft Cooking : Process and Product Considerations
Abstract : Xylan is the main hemicellulose in birch, eucalyptus, and most other hardwood species. During kraft pulping a series of chemical reactions and physical processes involving xylan takes place. READ MORE
