6. On perfusion estimation using ultrasound
Abstract : This thesis has the main focus on ways to improve the blood perfusion estimate, as obtained from a continuous wave Doppler system. Earlier studies have shown large temporal variations in the detected perfusion estimate, due to speckle. READ MORE

7. The Microvasculature of Endogenous and Transplanted Pancreatic Islets : Blood Perfusion, Oxygenation and Islet Endocrine Function
Abstract : Type 1 diabetes mellitus affects millions of people worldwide. Islet transplantation is a minimal invasive surgical procedure that restores euglycemia and halts the progression of diabetic complications. However, despite transplantation of islets from multiple donors most patients reverse to hyperglycemia within five years. READ MORE

9. Testicular blood flow : methodological and functional studies in the rat
Abstract : Different methods of measuring testicular blood flow in the rat were compared in an attempt to find an accurate method for measuring physiological testicular blood flow. It was found that both the Xenon- 133 clearance technique and the radioactive microsphere technique probably reflect true physiological blood flow in the testis. READ MORE

10. Fractional moving blood volume in fetal organs estimated using power Doppler ultrasound
Abstract : Power Doppler ultrasound (PDU) is a sensitive technique to detect slow blood movement. The aim of the present study was to develop a standardized method for quantification of the PDU signals recorded from a specific region of interest (ROI) within fetal organs. READ MORE
