1. Integration through framing : A study of the Cloetta Fazer merger
READ MORE

2. Change of toxicity during secondary treatment of industrial sludge containing nitroaromatics
Abstract : Wastewater treatment plants in Sweden are facing a great challenge due to the prohibition of depositing organic waste which gained legal force in January 2005. Biological and commercial available alternatives to disposal are composting and anaerobic digestion. READ MORE

3. Biomonitoring of epichlorohydrin and some related compounds
Abstract : This thesis considers epichlorohydrin (ECH), an important industrial chemical, that has been shown to be a carcinogen in experimental animals. The aim of this work is to improve the scientific basis for risk estimation of ECH and to suggest a reliable biomonitoring method for exposure. READ MORE

4. Polychlorinated biphenyls and their metabolites in human blood : Method development, identification and quantification
Abstract : PCBs are well known environmental pollutants. They are also precursors to metabolites, as the hydroxy-PCBs and the methylsulfonyl-PCBs. This thesis presents a validated methodology for analysis of PCB metabolites and a structural identification of 38 hydroxy-PCBs in human blood. READ MORE

5. Some aspects of convection as well as graphite and carbide formations during casting
Abstract : It is an established fact that segregation during casting affects the physical properties of carbon-based ferro alloys; this motivates the study of the segregation behaviour of carbon and carbide-forming solute elements. In this context, this thesis investigates two different situations: the effects of cooling rate and turbulence on the precipitation behaviour of the graphite nodules in nodular cast iron; the nature of carbide precipitation in a bearing steel grade and the effects of subsequent soaking on these carbides.
