  1. 16. Sharecom internationalisation : Exploring business models, business ecosystems, and pathways to international expansion

    Author : Heidi Coral Thornton; Richard A. Owusu; Emilia Rovira Nordman; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; sharing economy; sharecom; digital platform; business model; business ecosystem; entry strategy; internationalisation pathway; internationalisation; Business administration; Företagsekonomi;

    Abstract : An ever-changing business landscape, rapid developments in digital technologies, and shifts in societal attitudes have paved the way for the sharing economy phenomenon. Over the past decade, sharing economy companies (sharecoms) have emerged in droves, shaking up industry structures globally with their innovative business models and novel valuecreating processes, which rely on the externalised resources. 2. 17. Chicken Genomics - Linkage and QTL mapping

    Author : Per Wahlberg; Leif Andersson; Ruedi Fries; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; chicken; quantitative genetics; linkage map; QTL mapping; recombination; long-term selection; Z chromosome; selective sweep; SNP; Genetics; Genetik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents results from genetic studies conducted in the chicken (Gallus gallus). The domestication of chicken is believed to have been initiated approximately 7,000 – 9,000 years ago in Southeast Asia. READ MORE

  3. 18. Experimental characterization and numerical modeling of compression perpendicular to the grain in wood and cross-laminated timber

    Author : Shaheda T. Akter; Thomas K. Bader; Erik Serrano; Jan Oscarsson; Reinhard Brandner; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; rolling shear; biaxial testing; stress combination; RT-plane; moisture influence; rolling shear creep; digital image correlation; strain field; CLT connection; rotational stiffness; rullskjuvning; biaxiell undersökning; spänningskombination; RT-plan; fuktpåverkan; krypning vid rullskjuving; digital bildkorrelation; töjningsfält; KLTanslutning; rotationsstyvhet; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Abstract : Compression perpendicular to the grain (CPG) of wood is a typical loading situation in timber structures. It has been an extensively studied research topic for decades, due to the highly ductile behavior of wood under such loading, the large variations in mechanical properties, and the relevance of these properties in structural design. 4. 19. Moving beyond stewards versus agents : Exploring business managers as existential beings in the interior-design and furniture industry in Småland, Sweden

  5. 20. Trade-off between starvation and predation : Weight-watching in Yellowhammers

    Author : Ineke T. van der Veen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; populationsbiologi; Population Biology;

    Abstract : In this thesis I show that captive yellowhammers (Emberiza citrinella) strategically adjusted their level of body mass and diurnal trajectory of mass increase to experimentally increased predation risk. During winter, small birds need large fat reserves to survive the night. Therefore, they build up fat reserves every day. READ MORE
