  1. 1. Towards automated conceptual design space exploration

    University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; Gothenburg

    Author : Jakob Müller; [2018]
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering Design; Model Abstraction; Function Modelling; Knowledge Based Engineering; Model Based Design; Function-Means Modelling; Geometry Modelling; Design Space Exploration; Product Development; Systems Engineering; Design Automation; Aerospace;

    Abstract : In mature and safety-concerned industries, such as the aerospace industry, product development is often incremental and design solutions are limited to improvements of an existing design. Radical changes to the known product architecture are avoided, for reasons of reliability, lack of technology or lack of design space exploration (DSE) methods. READ MORE

  2. 2. Human Centred Design for Maritime Safety: A User Perspective on the Benefits and Success Factors of User Participation in the Design of Ships and Ship Systems

    University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; Gothenburg

    Author : Nicole Almeida Costa; [2016]
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; domain knowledge; co-design; design decisions; participatory design; maritime safety.; sociotechnical systems; integration; participatory ergonomics; user centred design;

    Abstract : For over six decades, Human Centred Design (HCD) has been considered a desired design approach for the implementation of Human Factors/Ergonomics (HF/E) knowledge and methods for understanding the needs of the end-users. Although other comparable frameworks exist, they can be seen as subcategories or as tools for HCD, as HCD is considered by some as an overarching approach. READ MORE

  3. 3. The Mediating Role of Product Representations; A Study with Three-Dimensional Textiles in Early Phases of Innovation

    University dissertation from Göteborg : Chalmers University of Technology

    Author : Siw Eriksson; Högskolan i Borås.; [2014]

    University dissertation from Högskolan i Borås

    Author : Svenja Keune; Högskolan i Borås.; [2018]
    Keywords : HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES;

    Abstract : Presently, designing with living systems such as insects, fungi and bacteria has become an area of extended interest, proposing collaborative processes of designing and manufacturing - as a solution for symbiotic ways of living. On the scale of the interior, modern systems for interior gardening, combining both functional, e.g. READ MORE
