21. Plastic design of steel bridge girders
Abstract : This thesis assesses the feasibility of a modified plastic design method for continuous steel or composite bridges with slender I-girders. The feasibility evaluation of the design method is closely connected to the moment-rotation relationship of the I-girders at internal supports. READ MORE

22. Bridge Edge Beams : LCCA and Structural Analysis for the Evaluation of New Concepts
Abstract : Bridge edge beams in Sweden may involve up to 60% of the life-cyclemeasure costs incurred along the road bridge’s life span. Moreover, usercosts as means of traffic disturbances are caused. Consequently, the SwedishTransport Administration started a project to find better alternativeedge beam design proposals for the society. READ MORE

23. Approaches to soft drug analogues of dihydrofolate reductase inhibitors : Design and synthesis
Abstract : The main objective of the research described in this thesis has been the design and synthesis of inhibitors of the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) intended for local administration and devoid of systemic side-effects. The blocking of the enzymatic activity of DHFR is a key element in the treatment of many diseases, including cancer, bacterial and protozoal infections, and also opportunistic infections associated with AIDS (Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia, PCP). 24. Bridge Monitoring to Allow for Reliable Dynamic FE Modelling : A Case Study of the New Årsta Railway Bridge
Abstract : Today’s bridge design work in many cases demands a trustworthy dynamic analysis instead of using the traditional dynamic amplification factors. In this thesis a reliable 3D Bernoulli-Euler beam finite element model of the New Årsta Railway Bridge was prepared for thorough dynamic analysis using in situ bridge monitoring for correlation. 25. Teachers as designers : Analyses of pedagogical patterns and their use
Abstract : Recent research has claimed that learning designs can strengthen the teaching profession by acknowledging teachers’ role as designers as they use these to disseminate good teaching ideas about digital technology to colleagues in schools and universities. However, the promises attributed to learning designs are based in particular on teachers producing learning designs, rather than on analyses of them or their use. READ MORE
