  2. 2. Integrated Bridge Maintenance : Evaluation of a pilot project and future perspectives

    Author : Hans-Åke Mattsson; Håkan Sundquist; Jan Bröchner; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bridge management; bridge maintenance; real service life; partnering; Building engineering; Byggnadsteknik;

    Abstract : The trend in many countries is to outsource maintenance with competitive tendering. The design of the tender is then a crucial issue. A new type of tendering contract, called "Integrated Bridge Maintenance", was introduced in one experimental area in Sweden. READ MORE

  3. 3. Improved Bridge Evaluation

    Author : Hendrik Schlune; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; model updating; structural identification; Bridge evaluation; concrete structures; finite element analysis; finite element method; load cases;

    Abstract : Accurate structural models are required for optimal management of existing bridges and economical new ones. However, unavoidable modelling uncertainties and difficulty in modelling the non-linear response of concrete bridges can lead to structural models which do not fulfil this requirement. READ MORE

  4. 4. Life-Cycle Costing : Applications and Implementations in Bridge Investment and Management
