  1. 11. Molar Incisor Hypomineralization

    Author : Tobias G Fagrell; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Teeth; Molar Insicor Hypomineralisation; hypomineralisation; Enamel; Etiology; ozone; Scanning electron microscopy;

    Abstract : Overall aim: The general objective of this thesis was to enhance the understanding of Molar Incisor Hypomineralization (MIH) in areas of the histological, chemical and mechanical properties of the hypomineralized enamel, objective and subjective clinical symptoms in relation to bacteria findings. Further, to estimate a time for onset of the disturbance and investigate possible etiological factors. READ MORE

  2. 12. Invariant T cell subsets in immune defense of oral mucosa and skin

    Author : Michał J Sobkowiak; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Innate-like T lymphocytes such as mucosa-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells and invariant natural killer T (iNKT) cells recognize antigens presented by MR1 and CD1d molecules, respectively. As MR1 presents microbial riboflavin metabolite antigens, and CD1d presents endogenous or microbial glycolipid antigens, MAIT cells and iNKT cells survey the non-protein fraction of the potential antigenic universe. 3. 13. Enamel hypomineralization in permanent first molars. A clinical, histo-morphological and biochemical study

    Author : Birgitta Jälevik; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adolescent; Calcium Metabolism Disorders; complications; Child; Child; Preschool; Dental Enamel; chemistry; Dental Enamel Hypoplasia; epidemiology; etiology; metabolism; pathology; Female; Humans; Male; Molar; pathology; Prevalence; Respiratory Insufficiency; complications; Spectrometry; Mass; Secondary Ion; Sweden; epidemiology;

    Abstract : Hypomineralization in the permanent first molars was common in a group of 516 Swedish 8-year-old children. Ninety-five children (18.4%) had at least one molar with demarcated opacity. The incisors frequently displayed opacities concomitantly. READ MORE

  4. 14. Stop caries Stockholm : a caries-prevention program for children living in multicultural areas with low socioeconomic status

    Author : Maria Anderson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Inequalities in oral health among children persist, despite more general improvements in recent decades. Dental caries still affects children in disadvantaged communities with a multicultural population, both more frequently and more severely. READ MORE

  5. 15. Applications of nanospray desorption electrospray ionization mass spectrometry : In situ lipid and metabolite analysis from cells to tissue

    Author : Hilde-Marléne Bergman; Ingela Lanekoff; Jonas Bergquist; Martina Marchetti-Deschmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mass spectrometry; mass spectrometry imaging MSI ; nanospray desorption electrospray ionization nano-DESI ; single-cell analysis; neurotransmitter imaging; diabetic nephropathy; pneumatic nebulization; lipidomics; metabolomics; Kemi med inriktning mot analytisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Analytical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Ambient mass spectrometry (MS) has proved to be an important addition to the bioanalytical toolbox. These methods perform analyte sampling and ionization under atmospheric pressure, and require very little sample preparation other than the sampling process in front of the machine. READ MORE
