21. Molecular beam epitaxy growth and characterization of GaN, AlN and AlGaN/GaN heterostructures
Abstract : The III-nitride materials, consisting of Al, Ga, In and N, have several physical properties that make them attractive for semiconductor devices in electronic and optic applications. A wide range of direct energy bandgaps (0.7 eV - 6.1 eV) can be obtained. READ MORE

22. Innovation Engineering in Practice : Bridging Exploration and Exploitation in Large Manufacturing Incumbents
Abstract : This thesis discusses how large manufacturing incumbent companies potentially can ensure their longevity and future-proof themselves by infusing ambidexterity throughout their organizations. Ambidextrous companies are equipped to achieve success in both current and future business environments, providing valued solutions to customers today and in the future. READ MORE

23. Gradients of time and complexity : understanding how riparian and instream ecosystems recover after stream restoration
Abstract : Why evaluations of the ecological outcomes of stream and river restoration have largely reported inconclusive or negative results has been the subject of much debate over the last decade or more. Understanding the reasons behind the lack of positive results is important for bettering future restoration efforts and setting realistic expectations for restoration outcomes. READ MORE

24. Seagrasses and their epiphytes : Characterization of abundance and productivity in tropical seagrass beds
Abstract : Seagrass beds cover large intertidal and subtidal areas in coastal zones around the world and they are subjected to a wide variety of anthropogenic influences, such as nutrient enrichment due to sewage seepage. This study was undertaken to address specific questions focusing on whether near shore tropical seagrasses that receive a constant influx of groundwater nutrient inputs, would exhibit a higher productivity and to what extent epiphytic algae reflect the impacts of nutrient inputs. 25. A model of pH and redox buffer depletion in waste landfills
Abstract : The geochemical processes governing the release of heavymetal contaminants from solid waste materials have been studiedexperimentally and modelled using a mass balance approach. Theaim of the modelling work was to develop calculation tools thatcan be used to predict the release rate of heavy metals fromwaste heaps or landfills. READ MORE
