  1. 6. Development of a new service-oriented modelling method for information systems analysis and design

    Author : Prima Gustiené; Anders G Nilsson; Sten Carlsson; William Wei Song; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Information systems analysis and design; conceptual modeling; service orientation; semantic integrity; static and dynamic aspects; goal modeling.; Informatics; Informatik; Information Systems; Informatik;

    Abstract : This thesis presents a new modelling method for information systems analysis and design, where the concept of service and the principles of service orientation are used for integrated modelling and reasoning about information systems architectures across organisational and technical systems boundaries. The concept of service enables cohesion of the intersubjective and objective modelling traditions by using a single type of diagram that facilitates detection of semantic inconsistency, incompleteness, ambiguity and discontinuity between the static and dynamic aspects of information systems specifications. 2. 7. Modelling and simulation of building components : thermal interaction between multilayer wall and hydronic radiator

    Author : Christian Brembilla; Thomas Olofsson; Per Sahlin; Persson Leif; Annika Moström; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Hydronic radiator; multilayer wall; efficiencies of emission; systemanalys; Systems Analysis; engineering science with specialization in microsystems technology; teknisk fysik med inriktningen mikrosystemteknik;

    Abstract : Background and Scope: The scope of this thesis is to investigate the thermal behaviour of building components as hydronic radiator and multilayer walls subjected to dynamic conditions. The modelling and simulation of these building components provide information on how these components thermally interact among each other. READ MORE

  3. 8. Modelling Energy Conservation and CO2 Mitigation in the European Building Stock

    Author : Erika Mata Las Heras; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cost assessment; bottom-up building modelling; techno-economical potentials; archetype building; energy conservation measures; European building stock;

    Abstract : This thesis investigates energy conservation in building stocks with the aim of developing a methodology that can be applied to the national building stocks of the European Union (EU). For this purpose, a bottom-up building-stock model and a methodology for describing the building-stock have been established. READ MORE

  4. 9. Modelling of Turbulent Flow and Heat Transfer for Building Ventilation

    Author : Peng Shia-Hui; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; large eddy simulation; turbulent buoyant convection; ventilation performance assessment; purging flow rate; SGS modelling; ventilation flow; stochastic Markov chain model; turbulence modelling; LRN k-w model; two-equation models; building ventilation; transfer probability; transition regime; modified SGS buoyancy model; energy backscatter;

    Abstract : This thesis contributes to studies on the assessment of building ventilation performance and the development of turbulence models accounting for Low-Reynolds-number (LRN) effects and buoyant convection with heat transfer. Assessments of building ventilation performance are discussed with respect to indoor air distribution and passive contaminant dispersion. READ MORE

  5. 10. Materials Handling in Production Systems: Design and Performance of Kit Preparation

    Author : Patrik Fager; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; kitting; kit preparation; order picking; materials supply systems;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses on processes for kit preparation, which are applied with the materials supply principle of kitting in production systems for mixed-model assembly. With kitting, assembly processes are supplied with portions of pre-sorted components, and each portion makes up a kit that holds the components needed for one assembly object at one or several assembly processes.
