21. Recycling and durability of PVC materials focusing on pre- and post-consumer wastes from building products
Abstract : The potential for recycling various polymeric materials contained within buildings constructed in the late 1960s and 1970s in Sweden was investigated during the course of this work. Three residential blocks were studied to establish the quantity of materials available for recycling, to investigate the difficulty in and time needed for the dismantling of the buildings, the degree of purity of the materials, and the possibility of separating the materials. 22. Decision support for the implementation of low-carbon measures in the building sector
Abstract : The building sector is responsible for about a fifth to a third of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Therefore, a successful mitigation of GHG emissions over the entire life cycle of buildings is particularly important to achieve climate targets such as the Paris Agreement. READ MORE

23. Diffusion of sustainable HVAC innovations in BIM platforms
Abstract : Sustainability attributes of building ventilation products have considerable impacts on building performance aspects such as energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality. Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) manufacturers allocate resources to develop innovating ideas for improving the sustainability attributes of their products. READ MORE

24. Timber-concrete hybrid structural systems : Examples, long and short-term dynamic monitoring, and numerical analysis
Abstract : Timber-concrete hybrid buildings are an innovative solution to increase the amount of timber materials in modern buildings. Due to its lower impact on the environment than materials like steel and concrete, the demand for timber products is rising as the construction industry aims to decrease its environmental footprint. 25. Architectural aspects of massive timber : structural form and systems
Abstract : The hypothesis of this thesis is that there are rational, technical and architectural gains to be made from interactively developed architectural and structural utilisation of massive timber plates. The aim is to study and describe architectural features of structural applications of massive timber and ways to utilise and develop timber-based plates in building applications by combining an architectural and a structural engineering perspective.
