  1. 1. Neuroendocrine Stress Response after Burn Trauma

    Author : Andreas Lindahl; Bengt Gerdin; Lisa Ekselius; Kristofer Rubin; Riddez Louis; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Burn; Injuries; Neuroendocrine; Intensive Care; Cortisol; Chromogranin A; Natriuretic peptides; Plastikkirurgi; Plastic Surgery;

    Abstract : Some aspects of the stress response during acute intensive care for severe burns are described and quantified by measuring hormonal and neuroendocrine patterns and relating these to organ function in the short term. This includes an assessment of whether there are markers for the severity of stress that are better than conventional descriptors of the severity of a burn in predicting failing organ function. Abstract : Earth Observation (EO) satellites have great potential in wildfire detection and assessment at fine spatial, temporal, and spectral resolutions. For a long time, satellite data have been employed to systematically monitor wildfire dynamics and assess wildfire impacts, including (i) to detect the location of actively burning spots, (ii) to map the spatial extent of the burn scars, (iii) to assess the wildfire damage levels. 4. 4. Outcome of burn care : the mortality perspective

    Author : Laura Pompermaier; Folke Sjöberg; Ingrid Steinvall; Mats Fredrikson; Johan Thorfinn; Jyrki Vuola; Linköpings universitet; []

  5. 5. Psychiatric History and Adaptation in Burn Injured Patients

    Author : Johan Dyster-Aas; Lisa Ekselius; Bengt Gerdin; Mimmie Willebrand; Ulrik Malt; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : The intertwined relationship between physical and psychological problems is a topic of much interest in the rehabilitation of severely injured patients, e.g. after a burn. The present study aims at gaining further knowledge concerning the impact of psychological factors and psychiatric morbidity on short and long-term adaptation after burn injury. READ MORE
