  1. 1. Iridium-Catalyzed C−H Activation Methods for Late-Stage Functionalization of Pharmaceuticals

    Author : Erik Weis; Belén Martín‐Matute; Jin-Quan Yu; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; amination; catalysis; C-H activation; C-H functionalization; high-throughput experimentation; iodination; iridium; isotope labelling; late-stage functionalization; methylation; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : C-H activations have over the recent decades risen from a mere curiosity to a viable synthetic strategy. However, challenges in terms of accessible transformations, selectivity and functional group tolerance limit the widespread applicability of this approach. READ MORE

  2. 2. The Littorina transgression in southeastern Sweden and its relation to mid-Holocene climate variability

    Author : Shiyong Yu; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; marklära; kartografi; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; climatology; cartography; pedology; geomorphology; Physical geography; tidal action; solar forcing; global meltwater pulse; North Atlantic storminess; climate changes; shoreline displacements; sea-level fluctuations; Littorina transgression; Baltic Sea; klimatologi;

    Abstract : Lateglacial and Holocene shoreline displacement along the Baltic coast resulted from both the isostatic land uplift and the ice-volume-equivalent sea-level rise. Relative changes of these two components led to alternating contact/isolation of the Baltic Basin with the North Sea during the Holocene. READ MORE

  3. 3. Mechanical and thermal stability of hard nitride coatings

    Author : Yu-Hsiang Chen; Magnus Odén; Lina Rogström; Tomasz Liskiewicz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Hard coating’s thermal stability is essential due to the high temperature environment of high-speed cutting applications, while the phase and microstructure evolution induced by exposing the coating to high temperature affects the mechanical properties. In this thesis, the mechanical stability of arc-evaporated, hard, transition metal nitride coatings annealed at high temperature is analyzed and related to the phase and microstructure evolution. 4. 4. Damage mechanisms for near-infrared radiation induced cataract

    Author : Zhaohua Yu; Per Söderberg; Konstantin Galichanin; Masami Kojima; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; infrared radiation; photochemical; thermal; forward light scattering; lens; cataract; temperature; Arrhenius equation; heat diffusion;

    Abstract : Purpose: 1) To estimate the threshold dose and the time evolution for cataract induction by near infrared radiation (IRR) in seconds exposure time domain; 2) to determine the ocular temperature development during the threshold exposure; 3) to investigate if near IRR induces cumulative lens damage considering irradiance exposure time reciprocity; 4) to experimentally estimate the temperature in the lens indirectly from the measurement of temperature-induced light scattering increase.Methods: Before exposure, 6-weeks-old albino rats were anesthetized and the pupils of both eyes were dilated.
