1. Large-scale Runoff Generation and Routing : Efficient Parameterisation using High-resolution Topography and Hydrography
Abstract : Water has always had a controlling influence on the earth’s evolution. Understanding and modelling the large-scale hydrological cycle is important for climate prediction and water-resources studies. READ MORE

2. Interaction of Triglyceride-rich Lipoproteins with Platelets and Vitamin K-dependent Coagulation Factors
Abstract : 1. During incubation of platelets with 3H-arachidonic acid (20:4, n-6) and 14C-cholesterol doubly labelled and colloidal gold labelled chylomicrons (CMs) and chylomicron remnants (CMRs) CMs were taken up more efficiently than CMRs. Addition of unlabelled CMs, VLDLs, LDLs and HDLs decreased the uptake of labelled CMs. READ MORE

3. Humoral and cellular immune responses to proteins encoded by the hepatitis C virus
Abstract : The hepatitis C virus (HCV) was the first described human pathogen of the hepaciviruses, a new genus within the flaviviridae family. A characteristic feature of HCV is that it has a high genetic heterogenecity. It is believed that the immune response is of vital importance to prevent, control, and to eradicate HCV infections. 4. Studies of amyloid precursor protein trafficking and processing
Abstract : Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of neurodegenerative disease that slowly impairs memory and thinking abilities. Abnormal accumulation and aggregation of amyloid β peptides (Aβ), derived from proteolytic cleavage of the amyloid precursor protein (APP), is thought to be one of the critical triggers in the pathogenesis. 5. Role of thioredoxin system in cell death caused by toxic compounds
Abstract : Thioredoxin systems, comprising Trx, TrxR and NADPH, are one of the major disulfide reductase systems, which is crucial in maintaining cellular redox balance in mammalian cells. TrxR is a selenoprotein with a Sec residue in its C-terminal active site. READ MORE
