  1. 1. Cost-effective Communication and Control Architectures for Active Low Voltage Grids

    Author : Mikel Armendáriz; Lars Nordström; Sami Repo; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Active low voltage distribution grids; CAPEX OPEX; communication control architectures; cost-effectiveness; MPC; multiagent systems; photovoltaics; voltage control.; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : The monitoring and control of low voltage distribution grids has historically been disregarded due to the unidirectional flow of power. However, nowadays the massive integration of distributed energy resources into distribution grids, such as solar photovoltaics, distributed storage, electric vehicles and demand response programs, presents some challenges. 2. 2. Migration Towards Next Generation Optical Access and Transport Networks

    Author : Kun Wang; Lena Wosinska; Jiajia Chen; Kjell Brunnström; Jason P. Jue; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fiber To The Home FTTH ; Mobile backhaul fronthaul; Next Generation Optical Access network; Optical Transport Network OTN ; Network migration; Techno-Economic; Total Cost of Ownership TCO ; Capital expenditures CAPEX ; Operational expenditures OPEX ; Softer Defined Networking SDN ; Informations- och kommunikationsteknik; Information and Communication Technology; Electrical Engineering; Elektro- och systemteknik;

    Abstract : By 2020 there will be 50 billion connected devices over the Internet. With the fast-increasing data traffic demand in both fixed and mobile networks, network operators need to migrate networks towards next generation solutions. READ MORE

  3. 3. ICT Platform Integration - MCDM Based Framework for the Establishment of Value Network : Case Study: Mozambique Government Electronic Network (GovNet)

    Author : Lourino Chemane; Oliver Popov; Tatiana Kovacikova; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer and systems science; Data- och systemvetenskap; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : The selection of ICT service providers are among many of the challenges in building networks (intranets and extensions to the Internet) due to the high investment on equipment (CAPEX) and on operational costs (OPEX). This thesis proposes a Multi-Criteria Decision Method based decision support framework via the deployment of the Analytical Hierarchy Process method that can be used to improve selection and evaluation practices. 4. 4. CO2 Separation - from Aqueous Amine Solvent to Ionic Liquid-based solvent

    Author : Nan Wang; Xiaoyan Ji; James Glynn; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : CO2 separation is one of the most important roles in CO2 mitigation target as many human production activities (e.g., cement, iron and steel, and biogas productions) cause CO2 emissions. The solvent-based absorption is the most mature technology for CO2 separation, where different solvents capture CO2 either in chemical or physical absorptions. READ MORE

  5. 5. Hybrid Routing in Next Generation IP Networks : QoS Routing Mechanisms and Network Control Strategies

    Author : Antoine B Bagula; Björn Pehrson; Bukhard Stiller; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Teletraffic systems; Teletrafiksystem;

    Abstract : Communication networks have evolved from circuit-switched and hop-by-hop routed systems into hybrid data/optical networks using the Internet as a common backbone carrying narrow- and broad-band traffic offered by a multitude of access networks. This data/optical backbone is built around a multi-technology/multi-protocol routing architecture which runs the IP protocols in a collapsed IP stack where ATM and SONET/SDH have been replaced by the suite of Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) protocols.
