  1. 1. Carbon Nitride : Characterization and Protein Interactions

    Author : Torun Berlind; Hans Arwin; Pentti Tengvall; Hans Hultman; Thomas E. Tiwald; Linköpings universitet; []

    Abstract : This thesis concerns synthesis and characterization of carbon-based materials and theinvestigation of the possible use, of a selection of these materials, in biomedicalapplications. Protein adsorption and blood plasma tests were used for this purposeutilizing a surface sensitive technique called spectroscopic ellipsometry. READ MORE

  2. 2. Sputtered Carbon Nitride Thin Films

    Author : Niklas Hellgren; Bernd Schultrich; Linköpings universitet; []

    Abstract : The relation between the growth conditions and the film structure and properties of reactively magnetron sputtered carbon nitride CNx (0 ≤ x ≤ 0.6) thin films has been studied. The growth of CNx films has been studied when varying the process parameters, such as substrate temperature, N2 (partial) pressure and ion flux. READ MORE

  3. 3. Growth and microstructure of reactive sputter deposited boron nitride : carbon (BN:C) thin films

    Author : Mats P. Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Growth, microstructure and mechanical properties of boron nitride: carbon (BN:C) have been studied in films prepared by reactive r.f. diode sputter deposition as well as by reactive unbalanced d.c. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fullerene-like carbon nitride thin solid films

    Author : Jörg Neidhardt; Brian C. Holloway; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The subject of this thesis is to establish synthesis-structure-property- performance relations for nano structured carbon nitride thin solid films. This material consists of bent and frequently intersecting nitrogen-containing graphite basal planes, where nitrogen plays an important role for the initiation of inter-planar cross-links and the induction of curvature via pentagon formation, much like in Buckminster Fullerenes - hence, the terminology "fullerene-like carbon nitride". 5. 5. Carbon Nitride and Carbon Fluoride Thin Films Prepared by HiPIMS

    Author : Susann Schmidt; Lars Hultman; Grzegorz Greczynski; Charanjit Singh Bhatia; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The present thesis focuses on carbon based thin films prepared by high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) and direct current magnetron sputtering (DCMS). Carbon nitride (CNx: 0 < x < 0.20) as well as carbon fluoride (CFx: 0.16 < x < 0. READ MORE
