1. On Virtual Surgical Planning in Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery
Abstract : The complex three-dimensional (3D) anatomy of the cranio-maxillofacial (CMF) region makes surgery a challenging task. Virtual surgical planning (VSP) has the potential to increase accuracy, reproducibility and shorten operation time. READ MORE

2. Cone Beam Computed Tomography in Evaluations of Some Side Effects of Orthodontic Treatment
Abstract : In the late 1990s a new imaging modality, Cone Beam CT (CBCT) that enables high quality three-dimensional imaging at lower doses than Computed Tomography (CT), was introduced in dento-maxillofacial imaging. In 2005 the Swedish Council on Health Technology Assessment (SBU), in a review of scientific articles on Malocclusions and Orthodontic Treatment in a Health Perspective, found low or contradictive evidence for an association between orthodontic treatment and risks for negative side effects. 3. Healing of endosseous implants with different surface characteristics in grafted and non-grafted bone : clinical and experimental studies
Abstract : Aims: This study uses radiological and clinical evaluations of the healing of endosseous titanium implants presented with different surface characteristics in the clinical situation (paper I-III) and experimentally to describe the early bone healing in maxillary sinus membrane elevation with and without the use of grafting material (paper IV).Material and methods: In paper I, 136 patients were treated with 394 dental implants – 199 were oxidized titanium implants (Nobel Biocare TiUnite) and 195 were turned titanium surface implants (Nobel Biocare Mark III). 4. Influencing factors of orthodontic tooth movement and root resorption, and evaluation of its radiographic diagnostic means
Abstract : Aims: To investigate whether patient- or tooth-related factors like jaw location or intra- and interarch obstacles influence the amount of orthodontic tooth movement and orthodontically induced root resorption, and to evaluate if the concept of slow and fast movers is valid in humans. Furthermore, to evaluate the validity of different radiographic methods for detecting root resorption. READ MORE

5. Cone Beam Computed Tomography - radiation dose and image quality assessments
Abstract : Diagnostic radiology has undergone profound changes in the last 30 years. New technologies are available to the dental field, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) as one of the most important. READ MORE
