  1. 1. On the establishment of effective condition-based maintenance for oil-filled electrical transformers to reduce failures due to copper corrosion problems and its role toward sustainable energy

    Author : Ramsey Jadim; Mirka Kans; Lina Bertling Tjernberg; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CBM; CM procedures; corrosion problems; transformer oil analysis; corrosive sulfur; transformer failures; sustainable maintenance; sustainable energy supply; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Abstract : Oil-filled electrical transformers are critical equipment for modern societies where a sustainable energy supply is required. Recently, many severe fire and explosion accidents of transformers have been reported due to copper corrosion problems in the form of copper sulfide deposits on the windings. READ MORE

  2. 2. Revisiting dental caries as an immunodeficiency disorder

    Author : Nongfei Sheng; Nicklas Strömberg; Anders Esberg; Thomas Boren; Anna Westerlund; Vuokko Loimaranta; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; caries; immunodeficiency; proline-rich proteins; DMBT1; S. mutans; adhesin; SpaP; Cnm; Cbm; collagen binding; caries risk stratification; precision dentistry;

    Abstract : Worldwide, dental caries is the major human chronic disease, with billions of people affected in terms of life quality impairment and high society costs that consumes 5-10% of the global healthcare budget. In Western countries dental caries has declined dramatically, with a trajectory of 15% high-risk individuals with recurrent caries and a non-responder behavior to standard prevention. READ MORE

  3. 3. Glycoside hydrolases from Rhodothermus marinus Modular organisation and structure-function relationships

    Author : Maher Abou-Hachem; Bioteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; calcium-binding; modular; endoglucanase; thermostable; CBM; xylanase; Biotechnology; Bioteknik;

    Abstract : The thermophilic bacterium Rhodothermus marinus produces several thermostable glycoside hydrolases. The studies presented in this thesis were performed on two enzymes, belonging to glycoside hydrolase families 10 and 12, produced by this microorganism. The family 10 xylanase, Xyn10A, is modular in architecture consisting of five domains or modules. READ MORE

  4. 4. On the estrablishment of effective condition monitoring parameters for copper corrosion problems in mineral oil-filled electrical transformers

    Author : Ramsey Jadim; Mirka Kans; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; condition monitoring parameters; corrosion problems; sulfur deposits; corrosion reaction mechanisms; transformer failures; CBM.; Maskinteknik; Mechanical Engineering;

    Abstract : The power transformer is a critical equipment in which the protection process is essential for modern societies where continuous electric power supplies are required. Copper corrosion problems due to the formation of sulfur deposits on the copper windings of mineral oil-filled power transformers are considered a major issue that can lead to sudden failures, and in some cases, to costly fire and explosion accidents in the power plants. 5. 5. An SBU fully additive production approach for Board-level Electronics Packaging (SBU-CBM Method)

    Author : Sarthak Acharya; Jerker Delsing; Shailesh Singh Chouhan; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Cyberfysiska system; Cyber-Physical Systems;

    Abstract : The worldwide electronics market is focusing on developing innovative technologies that can lead to denser, more resilient, and tighter board-level integration. The consumer electronics market is trending toward miniaturization, with HDI-PCBs dominating. Electronics shrinking and scaling technology is the prime concern of all manufacturers. READ MORE
