1. Development of Accurate Reduced Order Models in a Simulation Tool for Turbomachinery Aeromechanical Phenomena
Abstract : Modern gas turbines are still vulnerable to vibrations when operated at certain speeds. This unstable environment can lead to high cycle fatigue (HCF) and damage several of the components inside the turbine. READ MORE

2. Financial performance measurement supporting the transition towards circular business models
Abstract : Financial performance measurement plays an important role in leading decision-makers through strategic innovation, such as business model innovation. To convey relevant information, it is important that the practices used to measure financial performance are appropriate to what is being measured. READ MORE

3. Glycoside hydrolases from Rhodothermus marinus Modular organisation and structure-function relationships
Abstract : The thermophilic bacterium Rhodothermus marinus produces several thermostable glycoside hydrolases. The studies presented in this thesis were performed on two enzymes, belonging to glycoside hydrolase families 10 and 12, produced by this microorganism. The family 10 xylanase, Xyn10A, is modular in architecture consisting of five domains or modules. READ MORE

4. Functional studies and engineering of family 1 carbohydrate-binding modules
Abstract : The family 1 cellulose-binding modules (CBM1) form a groupof small, stable carbohydrate-binding proteins. These modulesare essential for fungal cellulosedegradation. This thesisdescribes both functional studies of the CBM1s as well asprotein engineering of the modules for several objectives. READ MORE

5. Circular Business Model Design : Business Opportunities from Retaining Value of Products and Materials
Abstract : Today our economy is largely based on linear material flows, and many products, such as electronics, furniture, building materials and textiles, are discarded even when they could still be used. Without urgent action, globalwaste is expected to increase by 70% by 2060 and global materials use is expected to more than double. READ MORE
