  1. 1. Development of Accurate Reduced Order Models in a Simulation Tool for Turbomachinery Aeromechanical Phenomena

    Author : Mauricio Gutierrez Salas; Björn Laumert; Paul Petrie-Repar; Damian Vogt; Carlos Martel; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flutter; forced response; high cycle fatigue; reduced order models; ROM; craig-bampton; mistuning; tuned; mistuned; cyclic; noncyclic; craig-chang; free-interface. fixed-interface; subset nominal mode; SNM; CBMS; CCMS; CCC; CBC; FEM; CMS; modal; eigen; modeshapes; aeroelasticity; aeromechanical; tool; turbomachinery; turbine; compressor; AROMA; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Abstract : Modern gas turbines are still vulnerable to vibrations when operated at certain speeds. This unstable environment can lead to high cycle fatigue (HCF) and damage several of the components inside the turbine. READ MORE

  2. 2. Availability Analysis of Three Different Types of Combined Cycle Power Plants

    Author : Javed S. Alvi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CCC power plants; NOx reduction; IGCC power plants; Makrov process; repair policies; effectiveness; PFBC power plants; active redundancy; backup fuel reducition;

    Abstract : The goal of power plants with higher efficiency and lower environmental risk than conventional power plants has produced three types of combined cycle power plants. These are: 1) the conventional combined cycle (CCC) power plant, 2) the pressurised fluidised bed combustion (PFBC) power plants, and 3) the integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) power plants. 3. 3. Jesus for Zanzibar : Narratives of Pentecostal Belonging, Islam, and Nation

    Author : Hans Olsson; Kyrko- och missionsstudier; []
    Keywords : Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity; Zanzibar; Islam; Nationalism; identity politics; Mainland Tanzania; Christian-Muslim relations; belonging; values; conflict; Christian sociality;

    Abstract : This study addresses the presence of religious difference in the Muslim-dominated cultural setting of Zanzibar, a context in which, in 2012, Christian minorities became targets in violent events directed against representations of the politically contested Union with Mainland Tanzania. As the attacked churches are primarily attended by people of non-island origins and the incidents were blamed on local Muslim-revival groups, the events posed questions about the political significance produced at the intersection of religious belonging, ethnonational origins, and Union politics. 4. 4. Inflammatory response after cataract surgery : randomized controlled clinical and laboratory studies of different surgical techniques

    Author : Carl-Gustaf Laurell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Cataract extraction; phacoemulsification; inflammation; blood-aqueousbarrier; anti-inflammatory agents; heparin surface modified intraocular lens; fluorophotometry; prostaglandins; after-cataract; corneal oedema; lasers; comparative study; randomize;

    Abstract : During the last few years the phacoemulsification technique for cataract extraction has improved considerably. Because of this development phacoemulsification has recently superseded extracapsular cataract extraction (ECCE) as the preferred method. READ MORE

  5. 5. Function of wobble nucleoside modifications in tRNAs of Salmonella enterica Serovar Typhimurium

    Author : Peng Chen; Glenn R. Björk; Paul Agris; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; tRNA; wobble nucleoside; frameshifting; translation; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : Transfer RNA from all organisms has modified nucleosides and position 34 (the wobble position) is one of the most extensively modified positions. Some wobble nucleoside modifications restrict codon choice (e.g. 5-methylaminomethyl-2-thiouridine, mnm5s2U) while some extend the decoding capacity (e. READ MORE
