1. Sensory neuropeptides and nitric oxide in nasal vascular regulation
Abstract : The role of sensory neuropeptides and nitric oxide in vascular regulation was investigated in the pig nasal mucosa in vivo using arterial blood flow measurements and acoustic rhinometry for analysis of capacitance function. Moreover, the effects of heavy physical exercise, a-adrenoceptor agonists, nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibition, L-arginine, nitric oxide (NO) gas, histamine and capsaicin on nasal cavity NO levels and nasal cavity volume, were investigated in healthy subjects. 2. A study on the vascular effects of prostaglandin F2α[ and latanaprost in the eye with special reference to the surface hyperaemia after topical administration
Abstract : The ocular hypotensive effect of topically applied prostaglandins is usually accompanied byconjunctival hyperaemia and irritation. The purpose of the present study was to investigate thepharmacological mechanism of the ocular surface hyperaemia induced by topically appliedprostaglandins, particularly prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) and its synthetic analogue latanoprost, aselective FP prostanoid receptor agonist. 3. Neuronal mechanisms in tendon healing : effects of mobilization and immobilization
Abstract : The incidence of tendon injuries is increasing. Tendon healing and modelling are frequently protracted, often leading to pain and impaired function so called overuse syndromes. Presumably, the sensory nervous system may contribute both to promotion of repair as well as to inhibition of healing and tissue modeling. READ MORE

4. Contribution of the sensory nervous system : an experimental study in the rat
Abstract : The pathophysiological background to burn induced inflammatory reactions is poorly understood and present therapy options are limited. A model of thermal injury was developed to enable investigations of the acute inflammatory reactions in the periphery as well as of the transmission of nociception at the spinal cord level. READ MORE
