  1. 16. T cells in Autoimmunity: studies on murine type II collagen-induced arthritis

    Author : Alexandre Corthay; Immunologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Immunologi; Autoimmunity T lymphocytes collagen-induced arthritis Glycosylation TCR; transplantation; serology; Immunology; serologi; Skeleton; muscle system; rheumatology locomotion; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi;

    Abstract : Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) is a mouse model for rheumatoid arthritis, in which autoimmunity is induced by immunization with type II collagen (CII), a cartilage-specific protein. In the present work, alpha/beta T cells were shown to be required for CIA and for the production of anti-CII IgG antibodies, whereas gamma/delta T cells were neither necessary nor sufficient for development of CIA. 2. 17. Specifity and genetic control of B cell reactivity in experimental arthritis

    Author : Patrik Wernhoff; Immunologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; serologi; transplantation; Genetics; cytogenetics; Genetik; cytogenetik; Immunologi; Autoimmunity B-cell response Epitope Genetics Linkage Analysis; Immunology; serology;

    Abstract : Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) and pristane-induced arthritis (PIA) are animal models for human rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and can be induced in susceptible mouse and rat strains. CIA is induced by immunization of type II collagen (CII), a cartilage specific protein together with Freund’s adjuvant. READ MORE

  3. 18. Posttranslational modification of collagen type II : effects on antigen-specific T-cell tolerance and autoreactivity in collagen-induced arthritis

    Author : Patrick Merky; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a common chronic inflammatory disease affecting peripheral joints in approximately 1% of the world population. Immunization of susceptible strains with CII, leads to development of collagen-induced arthritis (CIA), an animal model for RA. READ MORE

  4. 19. Tolerance Mechanisms in Collagen-Induced Arthritis an Animal Model of Rheumatoid Arthritis

    Author : Alexandra Treschow; Immunologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Skeleton; Tolerance; Regulation; IFN-beta; Macrophages; Immunology; serology; transplantation; Immunologi; serologi; Arthritis; Collage; rheumatology locomotion; muscle system; Skelett; muskelsystem; reumatologi;

    Abstract : Collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) is one of the most commonly used animal models for Rheumatoid arthritis (RA). CIA is induced in susceptible mouse strains after immunization with heterologous type II collagen (CII). In mice of the H-2q haplotype rat CII (rCII) is used whereas in mice of the H-2r haplotype bovine CII is utilized. READ MORE

  5. 20. Investigation of T cell driven arthritis induced by mannan in ZAP70 mutated SKG mice

    Author : Simon Guérard; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Autoimmune diseases are particularly challenging to study in human due to their complex multifactorial nature. In rheumatoid arthritis (RA), self-reactivity directed against joints leads to pain, tissue destruction and eventually invalidity if left untreated. READ MORE
