1. Clinical and epidemiological studies on prognostic and predicitve factors in cutaneous melanoma
Abstract : Background: Cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM) is one of the most rapidly increasing cancers in Sweden, as in many other western countries. In clinical practice, the histopathological evaluation has remained the basis for staging the CMMs and, thus, providing important information on prognosis and on therapeutic recommendations. 2. Off-line programming of coordinate measuring machines
Abstract : This thesis describes the state-of-the-art of off-line programming (OLP) for co-ordinate measuring machines (CMM's) and explores two important aspects of OLP systems; automatic generation of inspection programmes, probing points and movements between these, and data transfer from computer aided design (CAD). A method of generating inspection programmes using a 'feature' based definition of component geometry is described. READ MORE

3. Towards successful integration of maintenance and production
Abstract : This thesis focuses on the integration of maintenance and production in process industries. Earlier research shows that coordinating maintenance plans with production plans is more important in flow manufacturing. READ MORE

4. Clinical-epidemiological studies on cutaneous malignant melanoma : A register approach
Abstract : The incidence of cutaneous malignant melanoma (CMM) is steadily increasing. Most of the patients have thin CMM with a good prognosis and a 5-year survival of about 90%. The prognosis is highly related to tumour thickness and clinical stage at diagnosis. READ MORE

5. Molecular studies in different types of melanoma tumors : correlations to clinical data
Abstract : Approximately 90% of melanomas arise from skin sites (known as cutaneous malignant melanoma; CMM), whereas the non-cutaneous melanoma (mucosal and ocular melanomas) are rare, accounting for about 10%. Familial melanoma accounts for up to 10% of patients diagnosed with CMM. Both genetics (e.g. READ MORE
