  1. 1. Vertical Heterostructure III-V MOSFETs for CMOS, RF and Memory Applications

    Author : Adam Jönsson; Nanoelektronik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nanowire; MOSFET; CMOS; RRAM; III-V; InAs; GaSb; InGaAs; Heterostructure; vertical; nanowire NW ; MOSFET; III-V materials; RRAM; RF; CMOS; InAs; GaSb; InGaAs; heterostructure; Vertical nanowire;

    Abstract : This thesis focuses mainly on the co-integration of vertical nanowiren-type InAs and p-type GaSb MOSFETs on Si (Paper I & II), whereMOVPE grown vertical InAs-GaSb heterostructure nanowires areused for realizing monolithically integrated and co-processed all-III-V CMOS.Utilizing a bottom-up approach based on MOVPE grown nanowires enablesdesign flexibilities, such as in-situ doping and heterostructure formation,which serves to reduce the amount of mask steps during fabrication. 2. 2. On the Low Frequency Noise in Ion Sensing

    Author : Da Zhang; Zhen Zhang; Shili Zhang; Hans Norström; Jörgen Olsson; Michel Calame; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; low frequency noise; ion sensor; ISFET; electrochemical impedance spectroscopy; constant phase element; surface chemistry; CMOS technology; Engineering Science; Teknisk fysik;

    Abstract : Ion sensing represents a grand research challenge. It finds a vast variety of applications in, e.g., gas sensing for domestic gases and ion detection in electrolytes for chemical-biological-medical monitoring. READ MORE

  3. 3. Graphene-based Devices for More than Moore Applications

    Author : Anderson Smith; Mikael Östling; Mihai Adrian Ionescu; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Graphene; Humidity Sensor; Pressure Sensor; GFET; CMOS; BEOL; More than Moore; Integration; Statistics;

    Abstract : Moore's law has defined the semiconductor industry for the past 50 years. Devices continue to become smaller and increasingly integrated into the world around us. Beginning with personal computers, devices have become integrated into watches, phones, cars, clothing and tablets among other things. READ MORE

  4. 4. Microwave CMOS Beamforming Transmitters

    Author : Johan Wernehag; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Beamforming transmitter; CMOS; frequency doubling power amplifier; polyphase filter; phase shifting;

    Abstract : The increase of the consumer electronics market the last couple of decades has been one of the main drivers of IC process technology development. The majority of the ICs are used in digital applications, and for these CMOS is the choice of technology. The urge to squeeze more transistors on to a given area has led to shrinking feature sizes. 5. 5. Low Power Techniques for Fast CMOS Buffer Memories

    Author : Jonas Alowersson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Systems engineering; low-power; throughput; buffer memory; CMOS; SRAM; computer technology; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : The thesis deals with circuit-level aspects of CMOS buffer SRAMs where the data throughput rate is a more important metric than access time or storage capacity. One aspect is the increased write cycle related power consumption that is the consequence of a high write ratio combined with a long word-length. READ MORE
