  1. 11. CO2 mitigation in advanced power cycles

    Author : Jens Wolf; Jinyue Yan; Hongguang Jin; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical engineering; chemical looping combusion; co2 capture; hydrogen production; trigeneration; co-generation; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis encompasses CO2 mitigation using three different processes: i) natural gas-fired combined cycle with chemical looping combustion (CLC), ii) trigeneration of electrical power, hydrogen and district heating with extended CLC, iii) steam-based gasification of biomass integrated in an advanced power cycle. In CLC, a solid oxygen carrier circulates between two fluidised-bed reactors and transports oxygen from the combustion air to the fuel; thus, the fuel is not mixed with air and an inherent CO2 separation occurs. 2. 12. Study of MFI zeolite membrane for CO2 separation

    Author : Shahpar Fouladvand; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Chemical Technology; Kemisk teknologi;

    Abstract : Nowadays, the need and interest for renewable sources of energy has increased. Biogas is a renewable source of energy that can be considered as a sustainable substitute for natural gas. READ MORE

  3. 13. Experimental Studies on CO2 Capture Using Absorbent in a Polypropylene Hollow Fiber Membrane Contactor

    Author : Yuexia Lu; Jinyue Yan; Erik Dahlquist; Umberto Desideri; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : CO2 capture; Simultaneous removal of CO2 and SO2; Hollow fiber membrane contactor; Membrane gas absorption; Partial wetting; Surface modification; CO2-avskiljning; samtidig avskiljning av CO2 och SO2; ihålig fiber; membran; gas absorption; vätning; ytmodifiering; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : In recent years, membrane gas absorption technology has been considered as one of the promising alternatives to conventional techniques for CO2 capture due to its favorable mass transfer performance. As a hybrid approach of chemical absorption and membrane separation, it exhibits a number of advantages, such as operational flexibility, compact structure, high surface-area-to-volume ratio, linear scale up, modularity and predictable performance.
