1. Code-switching in Chicano Theater : Power, Identity and Style in Three Plays by Cherríe Moraga
Abstract : The thesis examines local and global functions of code-switching and code-mixing in Chicano theater, i.e. in writing intended for performance. The data of this study consists of three published plays by Chicana playwright Cherríe Moraga. READ MORE

2. Steam condensation in a water pool and its effect on thermal stratification and mixing
Abstract : The Pressure Suppression Pool (PSP) of a Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) is a large heat sink designed to limit the containment pressure by condensing steam released from the primary coolant system. The development of thermal stratification is a safety concern since it leads to higher containment pressures than in completely mixed conditions, and can affect the performance of systems such as the emergency core cooling and containment spray, which the use PSP as a source of water. 3. Validation and Application of CFD to Safety-Related Phenomena in Lead-Cooled Fast Reactors
Abstract : Carbon-free nuclear power production can help to relieve the increasing energy demand in the world. New generation reactors with improved safety, sustainability, reliability, economy and security are being developed. Lead-cooled fast reactor (LFR) is one of them. READ MORE

4. Fluid and Solid Particle Dynamics in Stirred Vessels
Abstract : The present thesis deals with the fluid dynamics of stirred vessels and particularly those that are to be used in conjunction with solids suspensions. Stirred vessels are very common in the process industry and large amounts of energy can be saved by optimising their operation. READ MORE

5. Numerical studies of turbulent wall-jets for mixing and combustion applications
Abstract : Direct numerical simulation is used to study turbulent plane wall-jets. The investigation is aimed at studying dynamics, mixing and reactions in wall bounded flows. The produced mixing statistics can be used to evaluate and develop models for mixing and combustion. READ MORE
