1. Electrothermal Simulation in a Concurrent Waveform Relaxation Based Circuit Simulator
Abstract : The main purpose of this work is to study methods to simulate electro-thermal effects in integrated circuits using CONCISE a waveform relaxation based circuit simulator. WR is a method that is suitable to run on a multi-computer with state of the art computing power. Especially CMOS VLSI circuits have been simulated successfully with WR. READ MORE

2. Studies on the intramolecular Claisen condensation and related reactions
Abstract : Intramolecular Claisen or Claisen-like condensations of ß-acetoxy esters, amides or imides to ß-keto-5-lactones are described. Two compounds which can give either this reaction or the analogous reaction to y-lactone prefer to give the latter. READ MORE

3. Integrating domain knowledge into deep learning : Increasing model performance through human expertise
Abstract : The research in this thesis is focused on how deep learning models can be designed and implemented to better emulate and integrate the heuristic reasoning process of human experts. Several case studies, within the domains of steel making and drug discovery, are conducted in order to evaluate the performance of these models, in comparison to models that do not consider human expert knowledge from the targeted domain. 5. Dead Landscapes – and how to make them live
Abstract : Certain deadening forces including disneyfication, museumization, and the standardization of heritagescapes have led to the loss of embodied, lived experiences. In an effort to (re)enchant how these landscapes are developed, managed, and encountered, a new landscape model is introduced that combines the more practical components of heritage management (locale and story) with strategies that explore the emotional and affective dimensions of phenomenological landscape experience (presence).
