  1. 6. Pharmacogenetic and pharmacokinetic studies of cyclophosphamide : in cell, animal and human

    Author : Hanjing Xie; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Cyclophosphamide; Cytochrome P450; Metabolism; Pharmacokinetics; 4Hydroxycyclophosphamide;

    Abstract : Cyclophosphamide (CPA) is widely used anti-cancer drug that has to be catalyzed by the cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzyme 2B6 as well as some other CYPs to exert its cytotoxic activity. A high degree of interindividual variation in CPA kinetics has been reported in both children and adult patients, which may be due to several factors such as concomitantly used drugs, variation in physiological status of individual patients and genetic polymorphism of the CYP enzymes. 2. 7. Optimization of cyclophosphamide therapy based on pharmacogenetics

    Author : Parvaneh Afsharian; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : Cyclophosphamide; Pharmacogenetics; Pharmacokinetics; Cytochrome P450; CYP2136; Ciprofloxacin;

    Abstract : Cyclophosphamide (CPA) is one of the most broadly used anticancer agents. CPA is also a potent immunosuppressive agent that is used for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. CPA is a prodrug that is activated in liver by a 4-hydroxylation reaction catalyzed by cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes. READ MORE

  3. 8. Experimental and computational investigation of affinity and selectivity factors in CYP2D6 and CYP3A4 mediated metabolism

    Author : Britta Bonn; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cytochrome P450; in vitro metabolism; biotransformation; computational modeling; drug design;

    Abstract : The assessment of ADME properties and metabolic behavior of a drug is central in drug discovery and drug design. The main target for studies of metabolic properties is the Cytochrome P450 (CYP), which is responsible for the metabolism of a majority of drugs on the market and consequently also involved in many drug-drug interactions. 4. 9. Genetic and metabolic studies towards personalized conditioning regimen prior to stem cell transplantation

    Author : Ibrahim El-Serafi; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is a curative treatment for several malignant and non- malignant diseases. The busulphan (Bu)/cyclophosphamide (Cy) combination is one of the most common conditioning regimens given prior to HSCT. READ MORE

  5. 10. Metabolism of quinoline 3-carboxamide compounds, a group of synthetic immunomodulators, in various species

    Author : Helen Tuvesson; Institutionen för experimentell medicinsk vetenskap; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; enzymologi; Proteiner; enzymology; Proteins; Gastroenterologi; Gastro-enterology; pharmacokinetics; enzyme kinetics; quinoline 3-carboxamides; Keywords: Metabolism; cytochrome P450;

    Abstract : Cytochrome P450 (CYP) is involved in the metabolism of the majority of clinically used drugs. We have studied the CYP mediated metabolism of quinoline 3-carboxamides, a group of synthetic immunomodulators in liver microsomal preparations from various species. READ MORE
