    Abstract : Even though most pregnancies and deliveries are uncomplicated, still fifteen percent of all women in developed countries suffer pregnancy-related complications. The aim of this thesis was to explore the associations between perinatal complications and perinatal maternal health, with emphasis on postpartum depressive symptoms (PPDS) and neuroticism taking into account potential confounding or mediating factors such as history of depression, antenatal depressive symptoms and delivery experience.     Abstract : This study was undertaken to investigate the involutional changes of the uterus and uterine cavity by ultrasound (US), gray-scale and Doppler, after normal delivery, and to compare with the corresponding findings from women with puerperal complications, particularly retained placental tissue (RPT).     Abstract : The overall aim of this thesis was to study how early breast-feeding would be influenced by pethidine given during labour and by an emergency Caesarean section. Eighteen mother-infant pairs which were exposed and 26 which were not exposed to pethidine during labour were observed the first two hours after birth. READ MORE
