1. Optimal Design of Experiments for the Quadratic Logistic Model
Abstract : Optimal design of experiments for binary data is the topic of this thesis. A particular logistic model including a quadratic term in the linear predictor is considered. Determining an optimal design for this model is complicated by the fact that the optimal design is dependent on the unknown true parameters. READ MORE

2. Design and Characterization of Functional Structures for Electromagnetic Waves
Abstract : This dissertation deals with design and characterization of functional structures for scattering of electromagnetic waves. An abundance of these structures can be found in nature, such as the structural coloration in the feathers of a peacock, the scales of butterflies and the shell of scarab beetles. READ MORE

3. Tools for Structured Matrix Computations : Stratifications and Coupled Sylvester Equations
Abstract : Developing theory, algorithms, and software tools for analyzing matrix pencils whose matrices have various structures are contemporary research problems. Such matrices are often coming from discretizations of systems of differential-algebraic equations. READ MORE

4. Identification and tuning of algorithmic parameters in parallel matrix computations : Hessenberg reduction and tensor storage format conversion
Abstract : This thesis considers two problems in numerical linear algebra and high performance computing (HPC): (i) the parallelization of a new blocked Hessenberg reduction algorithm using Parallel Cache Assignment (PCA) and the tunability of its algorithm parameters, and (ii) storing and manipulating dense tensors on shared memory HPC systems. The Hessenberg reduction appears in the Aggressive Early Deflation (AED) process for identifying converged eigenvalues in the distributed multishift QR algorithm (state-of-the-art algorithm for computing all eigenvalues for dense square matrices). 5. Network on Chip : Performance Bound and Tightness
Abstract : Featured with good scalability, modularity and large bandwidth, Network-on-Chip (NoC) has been widely applied in manycore Chip Multiprocessor (CMP) and Multiprocessor System-on-Chip (MPSoC) architectures. The provision of guaranteed service emerges as an important NoC design problem due to the application requirements in Quality-of-Service (QoS). READ MORE
