  1. 6. Capillary zone electrophoresis for the analysis of low molecular weight organic acids in environmental systems

    Author : Jessika Hagberg; Bert Allard; Stefan Karlsson; Anders Düker; Patrick van Hees; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; capillary zone electrophoresis; capillary zone electrophoresis-electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry; low molecular weight organic acids; pKa; Chemistry; Kemi; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Capillary zone electrophoretic (CZE) methods were developed to identify and quantify low molecular weight (LMW) organic acids in environmental samples. Sensitivity and selectivity were optimised by adapting the background electrolyte to the characteristics of analytes, and by using different modes of detection and injection. READ MORE

  2. 7. New Tools for Analysis of Wood and Pulp Components - Application of MALDI-TOF Mass Spectroscopy and Capillary Zone Electrophoresis

    Author : Anna Jacobs; KTH; []
    Keywords : Capillary zone electrophoresis; carbohydrate composition; degree of acetylation; degree of polymerization; enzymatic hydrolysis; hardwood; hemicellulose; hexenuronic acid; lignin; MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy; molar mass; molar mass distribution; olig;

    Abstract : In the present thesis, capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE),matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight massspectroscopy (MALDI-MS) and size-exclusion chromatography incombination with off-line MALDI-MS (SEC/MALDI-MS) have beenapplied successfully to the analysis of wood and pulpcomponents.The carbohydrate compositions of pulp and holocellulosesamples, as well as of isolated hemicellulose preparations,were determined employing enzymatic hydrolysis and subsequentanalysis of the saccharides released by CZE. 3. 8. Drug purity determination by capillary electrophoresis : Practical and theoretical aspects on peak shape and resolution

    Author : Olle Stålberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; analytisk farmaceutisk kemi; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry;

    Abstract : Capillary electrophoresis was used for separation and determination ofdrugs. Structural analogues, enantiomers and rotamers were separated usingderivatized β-cyclodextrins and γ-cyclodextrins as selectors.In order to improve these separation systems different kinds of chargedamphiphiles were introduced in the background electrolyte (BGE). 4. 9. Novel on-line mid infrared detection strategies in capillary electrophoretic systems

    Author : Malin Kölhed; Bo Karlberg; Sven P. Jacobsson; Andre' J. Sommer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; on-line hyphenation; mid infrared detection; capillary electrophoresis; FTIR; quantum cascade laser; aqueous samples; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Infrared absorption spectra can provide analytically useful information on a large variety of compounds, ranging from small ions to large biological molecules. In fact, all analytes that possess a dipole moment that changes during vibration are infrared-active. The infrared (IR) spectrum can be subdivided into far-, mid- and near- regions. READ MORE

  5. 10. Chiral Separation of Amines by Non-Aqueous Capillary Electrophoresis using Low Molecular Weight Selectors

    Author : Ylva Hedeland; Curt Pettersson; Ulf Bondesson; Lars Blomberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pharmaceutical chemistry; Chiral Separation; Non-Aqueous Capillary Electrophoresis; Enantioresolution; Electro-osmotic Flow; Pharmaceuticals; Enantiomeric Amines; Low Molecular Weight Selector; Farmaceutisk kemi; Kemi med inriktning mot analytisk kemi; Chemistry with specialization in Analytical Chemistry; Analytical Pharmaceutical Chemistry; Analytisk farmaceutisk kemi;

    Abstract : Three chiral selectors (diketogulonic acid, benzoxycarbonylglycylproline and ketopinic acid) have been introduced for enantioseparation of pharmacologically active amines in non-aqueous capillary electrophoresis. The use of organic solvents, instead of aqueous buffers in the background electrolyte facilitated ion-pair formation between the analytes and the chiral selectors. READ MORE
