  1. 11. [11C]Carbon Monoxide and Aryl Triflates in Palladium-Mediated Carbonylation Reactions : Synthetic approaches to [11C]Carbonyl Compounds and [11C]Amines

    Author : Obaidur Rahman; Bengt Långström; Fredrik Almqvist; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic chemistry; [11C]Carbon monoxide; Aryl triflates; Carbonylation; Organisk kemi; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The usefulness of low concentrations (typically 10 to 100 µM) of [11C]carbon monoxide and aryl triflates as substrates in 11C-carbonylation using different nucleophiles in the presence of lithium bromide was investigated. The reactions were performed in a micro autoclave of 200 µL volume and catalysed (mediated) by palladium(0). READ MORE

  2. 12. Regulation of Insulin Secretion in Relation to Nitric Oxide, Carbon Monoxide and Acid alpha-Glucoside Hydrolase Activities

    Author : Henrik Mosén; Lund Klinisk fysiologi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Endokrinologi; secreting systems; diabetology; Endocrinology; Medicin människa och djur ; Medicine human and vertebrates ; GK rat; insulin secretion; carbon monoxide; acid alpha-glucoside hydrolases; nitric oxide; heme oxygenase; isoforms of nitric oxide synthase; diabetologi; sekretion;

    Abstract : The main stimulus for insulin secretion is elevated blood glucose levels. In this thesis the aim was to study less well-known systems involved in the complex regulation of glucose-stimulated insulin release, emphasizing the role of the lysosomal/vacuolar system and the associated glycogenolytic acid alpha-glucoside hydrolases, but also the HO-CO and NOS-NO systems. 3. 13. Synthesis of 11C-labelled Alkyl Iodides : Using Non-thermal Plasma and Palladium-mediated Carbonylation Methods

    Author : Jonas Eriksson; Bengt Långström; Philip H. Elsinga; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Organic chemistry; isotopic labelling; carbon-11; alkyl iodides; acrylamides; specific radioactivity; carbonylation; carbon monoxide; non-thermal plasma; PET; Organisk kemi;

    Abstract : Compounds labelled with 11C (β+, t1/2 = 20.4 min) are used in positron emission tomography (PET), which is a quantitative non-invasive molecular imaging technique. It utilizes computerized reconstruction methods to produce time-resolved images of the radioactivity distribution in living subjects. READ MORE

  4. 14. Mitigating Off-Gassing and Self-Heating in Fuel Wood Pellets Storage : A Raw Materials Selection and Pre-Treatment Centred Approach

    Author : Workson Siwale; Jonas Berghel; Gunnar Henriksson; Michael Finell; Stefan Frodeson; Mani Sudhagar; Karlstads universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; solid biofuels; densified biomass; heat generation; off-gas emissions; carbon monoxide; carbon dioxide; methane; fatty and resin acids; Miljö- och energisystem; Environmental and Energy Systems;

    Abstract : Wood pellets have become a preferred solid biomass fuel for heat and power generation due to their standardized nature, known properties, and consistent quality. However, pellets produced from fresh sawdust sometimes undergo self-heating and off-gassing during storage. This poses a challenge for their transportation and storage. READ MORE

  5. 15. Fuel Cells and Biogas

    Author : Lars Hedström; Per Alvfors; Peter Lund; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; air bleed; biogas; carbon dioxide; carbon monoxide; current distribution; dilution; efficiency; energy conversion; energy systems; experimental; fuel cell; fuel cell systems; PEFC; poisoning; reformate; SOFC; Chemical energy engineering; Kemisk energiteknik;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns biogas-operated fuel cells. Fuel cell technology may contribute to more efficient energy use, reduce emissions and also perhaps revolutionize current energy systems. The technology is, however, still immature and has not yet been implemented as dominant in any application or niche market. READ MORE
