  1. 1. Amperometric Carbon Paste Biosensors Based on Horseradish Peroxidase and Oxidases

    Author : Vijayakumar Rajendran; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; on-line monitoring; l-lactate; glucose; ethanol; Biosensor; Carbon paste; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Amperometric carbon paste peroxide sensors based on horseradish peroxidase (HRP) were developed. In the first approach, HRP was chemically modified with polyethylene glycol to improve the stability of the enzyme in the organic paste matrix and compared with native HRP electrode. READ MORE

  2. 2. Enzyme-Based Amperometric Biosensors in Flow-Systems for Biomolecule Detection

    Author : Niklas Larsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Microdialysis; Liquid chromatography; Flow injection; Polyelectrolytes; Carbohydrate; Mediator; Dehydrogenase; Peroxidase; Oxidase; Enzyme; Amperometric detection; Carbon paste; Biosensor; Graphite electrode; On-line monitoring; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Amperometric enzyme based biosensors were designed, developed and characterised in flow systems. Solid graphite and carbon paste electrodes were used as support for enzyme immobilisation. Both mediated and direct electron transfers between redox enzymes and electrodes were utilised for biosensor construction, as well as coupled enzyme systems. READ MORE

  3. 3. Enzymatic and Immunological Detection Principles for Environmental and Biological Applications

    Author : Elisabeth Burestedt; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; interleukin-8; D-ammino acids; carbon paste; flow immunoassays; Amperometric biosensors; phenols; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : The aim of the thesis was to develop new analytical detection principles based on enzymatic and immunological reactions for sensitive, selective, cost-effective and high sample through-put detection devices. The thesis presents the basic elements and reaction paths necessary for the construction and development of enzyme based amperometric biosensors and immunoassays. READ MORE

  4. 4. Functionalization and Characterization of Carbon Based Nanomaterials for Electronics, Composite and Biomedical Applications

    Author : Nan Wang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; carbon nanomaterials; flexible electronics; hybrid nanowires; functionalization; graphene;

    Abstract : Surface functionalization of nanomaterials to combine different material’s properties together opens up unlimited possibilities for both academic research and industrial applications. In this thesis, flexible and scalable chemical approaches to functionalize carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) are developed for different applications, including electronics, composite and biomedical applications. 5. 5. Molecular filtration : the study of adsorbents

    Author : Ebenezer Twumasi; Christer Sjöström; Paolo Tronville; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; adsorbents; activated carbon; alumina; MgCa-silica; carbon-silica composite; characterization; porous parameters; molecular filtration; Other civil engineering and architecture; Övrig samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Abstract : Adsorbent materials for gas purification have been studied and developed for application in many areas. It is known that a single adsorbent may not adequately control multiple contaminants. Therefore, the development of adsorbent materials has accelerated over the past two decades, and is today an area attracting a lot of attention. READ MORE
