  1. 1. Social causality in motion Visual bias and categorization of social interactions during the observation of chasing in infancy

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Martyna A. Galazka; Uppsala universitet.; [2017]
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; social causality; motion; animacy perception; chasing goal-directed motion; heat-seeking; EEG; P400; Nc; spatial proximity; non-contact causality; functional specialization; specialized perception; evolution; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Abstract : Since the seminal work of Fritz Heider and Marienne Simmel (1944) the study of animacy perception, or the perception and attribution of life from the motion of simple geometrical shapes has intrigued researchers. The intrigue for psychologists and vision scientists then and today centered on the stark disconnect between the simplicity of the visual input and the universal richness of the resulting percept. 2. 2. 3D Occlusion Management and Causality Visualization

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Author : Niklas Elmqvist; [2006]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; causality; occlusion reduction; interaction techniques; visualization; occlusion management; information visualization; causal relations;

    Abstract : This thesis is split into two parts: one part dealing with the management of occlusion in 3D environments, the other with the visualization of causal relations. Both of these parts fall within the general framework of visualization---the graphical representation of data (abstract or concrete) with the purpose of amplifying cognition---but they do so in different ways. 3. 3. A Treatise on Measuring Wiener-Granger Causality

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Mathematics, Stockholm University

    Author : Mehrdad Jafari-Mamaghani; Stockholms universitet.; [2014]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wiener-Granger causality; Information theory; Kernel canonical correlation; Systems Microscopy; Cell migration.; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Abstract : Wiener-Granger causality is a well-established concept of causality based on stochasticity and the flow of time, with applications in a broad array of quantitative sciences. The majority of methods used to measure Wiener-Granger causality are based on linear premises and hence insensitive to non-linear signals. READ MORE

  4. 4. Switched Bond Graphs : Simulation and Analysis

    University dissertation from Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Author : Krister Edström; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [1999]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Bond graphs; Hybrid systems; Modeling; Simulation; Causality; Discontinuities;

    Abstract : In this thesis an approach to modeling and simulation of mode switching systems is investigated. This approach, switched bond graphs, is an extension of the bond graph language in the sense that it allows modeling of mode switching phenomena.The classical bond graph language as well as the switched bond graph language are presented. Abstract : Målet med denna avhandling var att undersöka partnerrelaterat våld mot kvinnor i Sverige från olika perspektiv och med ett särskilt fokus på graviditetsperioden. Syftet var: 1) att ta reda på barnmorskors erfarenheter, attityder och rutiner angående partnerrelaterat våld mot gravida kvinnor inom mödravården; 2) att utforska hur personer som arbetar inom olika program för våldsbenägna män (inom och utom kriminalvården) talar om manligt och kvinnligt och om partnerrelaterat våld, speciellt i förhållande till graviditet; och 3) att belysa kvinnors erfarenheter av att bli och vara gravid samtidigt som de var utsatta för våld i relationen, samt deras möten med barnmorskorna på mödravårdscentralen.
