1. Ultrafast Photoinduced Processes in Core and Core–Shell Quantum Dots for Solar Cell Applications “Tiny Crystals for Big Applications”
Abstract : The balance between our demands of energy and the energy we are consuming is not in equilibrium anymore. Therefore, the search for other energy resources is indispensable. Sustainable energy sources offer the alternative to the fossil fuels. READ MORE

2. Charge carrier dynamics in colloidal quantum dots: Tracking the dance of electrons and holes by ultrashort laser pulses
Abstract : Quantum dots (QDs) are semiconductor nanocrystals with quantum confinement. This thesis uses various time-resolved spectroscopic techniques to study ultrafast charge carrier dynamics in colloidal CdSe quantum dots that are important both from a theoretical point of view and for their relevance for solar cell applications. 3. The Study of II-VI Semiconductor Nanocrystals Sensitized Solar Cells
Abstract : Semiconductor nanocrystals, also referred to as quantum dots (QDs), have been the focus of great scientific and technological efforts in solar cells, as a result of their advantages of low-cost, photostability, high molar extinction coefficients and size-dependent optical properties. Due to the multi-electron generation effect, the theoretically maximum efficiency of quantum dots-sensitized solar cells (QDSCs) is as high as 44%, which is much higher than that of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs). 4. Study of quantum dots on solar energy applications
Abstract : This thesis studies p-i-n GaAs solar cells with self-assembled InAs quantum dots (QDs) inserted. The values of this work lie in three aspects. READ MORE

5. Strategies for Performance Improvement of Quantum Dot Sensitized Solar Cells
Abstract : Quantum dot sensitized solar cells (QDSCs) constitute one of the most promising low-cost solutions that are explored for the world’s needs of clean and renewable energy. Efficient, low-toxic and stable QDSCs for large-scale applications have formed the subject for the solar cell research during recent years. READ MORE
